R.I.P.
I know this will be met with ridicule but I was friends with this guy. I called him and we chatted frequently on the phone and msn. Most you peeps are probably gonna post "good riddance, what a cunt, lol" etc.
Problematic has died at the age of 17.
THE 17-year-old boy killed in a hit-and-run truck crash on the Pacific Highway today has been named as John Rozycki, from Burwood.
The P-plater was changing a blown tyre on the side of the Pacific Hwy, 15km north of Buladelah, when a truck struck him.
John, and another 17-year-old friend from Croydon, had been in Queensland visiting relatives when he stopped at 4am to change a tyre in the southbound breakdown lane.
The friend is already back in Sydney, having arrived on a 10.30am Greyhound bus on which he was given a free ticket.
Sources said the Croydon teenager was not injured but did not want to stay, deciding to catch a bus home.
Police are appealing for the driver of the truck to come forward.
The weather was clear and John's hazard lights were on, leaving police to believe the truck had moved into the breakdown zone, striking him.
He survived the impact but died soon after at the scene.
It was the second hit and run involving a truck in less than a week.
Police are still trying to find the driver of the truck that killed 21-year-old Egyptian student Mina Ayad Wahba on Wattle St, Punchbowl on Saturday at 7.40am.
Manning Great Lakes Police Inspector Neil Stephens said in this latest case, John appeared to have done the right things.
"The truck would have had to come out of its lane to hit him," he said.
"The car was in the far left side of the breakdown zone. It had its hazard lights on.
"He's taken what due care you would expect."
Insp Stephens said it was "possible but unlikely" the driver does not know they struck him.
Damage to the right side of the teenager's car, a silver Toyota Supra, was apparently caused by the victim and not the truck.
Police are hoping the truck was travelling in a convoy at the time which would mean someone might have seen the crash.
The passenger in the Supra has only been able to tell police that it was a truck that struck his friend.
Anyone with details on the crash can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegra...from=public_rss
I'm not exactly sure how to feel or act. He was having relationship problems at the time. It says he was going to visit relatives in the article but he was going to sort out shit with his ex girlfriend.
Funnilly enough he had been thinking of suicide for some time and began experimenting with drugs.
This is just so fucking wierd.
Oh well, rest in pieces brother,
Love Andy, Alex and Milo.

I remember the thread on how would we know if a regular had died (or at least part of another thread devoted to the theme) and not really believing that it would be a bridge we would ever have to cross, mostly because it would be nigh on impossible to find out if someone had indeed died or merely stopped posting.
It saddens me that this particularly forboding bridge has now been crossed.
Rest in peace.

My condolences go out to you and his family. God's blessings on you all and him, too. Thank you for sharing the tragic news with us. I got tears in my eyes.
Before some condemn the truck driver I have to say that it might have been a fluke that just happened like the little 6 year old girl that lived next door that died that the driver didn't see. Some accidents are just that.

I've actually first hand witnessed a trucker kill a man in Boston. He was crossing the street on a moped, and a big rig just came along, blew through a red light, and T-boned the guy on the moped. He was dragged underneath for a good 50 yards, if not more. Needless to say his body was mangled beyond recognition. I could go into greater detail about it, but i feel it'd be inappropriate for this thread. The guy never even saw it coming. The trucker didnt even slow down, he just kept on going and according to the news report, they never caught him. I saw the entire incident happen standing no more than 15-20ft away. It's something i'll never forget.

I just have to think what it would be like for him;
Pull over to the shoulder of the road, hazard lights on, etc. to fix a tyre, everything is fine and fun because you're on your first roadtrip without your parents and you've got a mate with you aswell. Then, from nowhere, you are picked up thrown excrutiatingly through the air, with broken and snapped bones piercing inverted organs. Then falling, hard, in a messy, painful heap, wondering how everything can go so wrong, how this could happen to you, living long enough to know that you're going to die so young, away from all family and friends, thinking about the loose ends you've left behind, wishing you had told your parents you'd loved them more often, etc.
It's unfathomable, and unbelievable. I was practically just talking to this guy.
Also, just imagine for one second; had I called him 5 minutes before the accident, he may have just strolled out of the path, the truck would completely miss him, and noone would ever had known just how close to death he was. I'd have saved his life, and noone would have known. I'm in no way blaming this on myself, but just think - how close to death are we at all points in time, when it means that if we were a few metres to the left we'd survive, if we spent five minutes on the phone we'd miss our death by five minutes and survive, if we were late to work this morning, we'd miss the Chrismas Massacre and survive, if we take that other route, made a different decision. Or indeed we made simply A decision, did things normally. Which is the best route for survival, what decisions and actions you make are going to land you into or out of deaths hands.
Does this mean you should grip every day or be cautious? In the end it doesn't matter because life is completely random, and the most cautious people die of cancer. In the end, everyone dies, but not everyone lives.

Infinity, i know the revelation you're going through right now. When I saw that guy get killed in boston, it was tragic but it really didn't hit me until i read the news article. It said he was a young (can't remember exaclty how old) doctor at a big hospital nearby. That really made me think... This man spent all those years studying his ass off and busting his balls through med school and all that, when he could have been out enjoying his life with his friends, but instead he would stay in and study just so he could have a good income and help people. then after all the years of hard work, he finally reaches his goal and is a doctor in a big name hospital, but out of nowhere some asshole runs a red light and it's all over in the blink of an eye. didn't even see it coming. All the years spent working hard and dedication to school, all for nothing. It really makes you think...

Problematic had just finished his Higher School Certificate a month or less ago. He was finally free from school and shit. He told me how much he hated it but continued it so he could get a good job. This was his first act after finishing school.

I can honestly say that I felt sick to my stomach when I read that sentence... you read about these things in the news and see it on TV all the time. But when it happens to somebody that you knew, or even knew of, reality gives you a big slap across the face and tells you that anything can happen to anybody at any goddamn time. I can't say that I knew him too well, but I had a few good laughs with him on the forum. How fucking terrible. I feel awful for his family and close friends too
R.I.P Problematic.

Fuck, just found out about him. This is unbelievable. I didn't know him too well but he seemed like a cool guy. My thoughts go out to his friends and family. I've just had a friend/co-worker lose his kid brother to a hit and run accident as well. Careful out there, folks.

|
You will go crazy thinking like this. You know everyone of us here will die but who knows when. I believe that you are correct in that we have to live everyday as wonderfully as possible. I really don't see any other option. Its a balance between risk, survival, and chance between choice, necessity, and experience. There are factors we can control to a point but when your number is up than that's it. Death doesn't discriminate and yes, it is completely random. The only hard part is left for the friends and family still alive. Problematic is beyond all of us now. I'm not certain what that in entrails for curtain but I like to believe that he is laughing at us.
I am sad to here he is gone though. I'll always remember how he loved to piss me off. If there is a sort of Internet in the after life then... This drink is to you.
RIP

Great Gods... even though I never knew him, my condoleances to his family and friends. R.I.P.
Some two months ago here in my neighbourhood, a girl riding a moped was caught by a truck turning around a corner.
She died, 17 years old just like Problematic, only just having finished her high school, in the bloom of her life...

hey a p-plater in australia is something you have to do for a year or so before you get your licence. Its to stop teenagers from driving high performace/turbo cars because of all the hoons and deaths on the road.
R.I.P problematic, you weren't really that friendly on here but still its sad when someone dies so young

Well fuck.
I met John years back here on MT and became very good friends with him over the years. We had plans to start a band at about this time of year, as we both just finished our secondary education a month ago..
The last few months of his life seemed to be going against John, he was going through a fair bit of shit (for lack of better words), and it really messes with my head for his family and friends to lose him at this time.. He really was a top, decent bloke, as anyone that got to know him would agree.. I can't really do him justice in this short post, anyway..
His funeral was quite nice. It was very religious and such (ironically), however I was quite pleased to see so many people attend. As he was being lowered into the earth, a song that John wrote was played. He was buried with his skateboard and guitar, and I think that he would be deeply amused and gratified if he were able to see his funeral. I look forward to visiting his resting place again soon, I fucking miss him..
On a slightly related note, I think it's a good time for me to stop posting here anymore in the little spare time I have at the moment.. My msn address is my.own.saviour@hotmail.com should anyone be bored enough to chat.. Farewell.
