Thinking back to when it all started...
When was your first metal experience? What or who got you listening to metal? Erase all my answers and fill out the questionnaire below
Thinking back to your first metal experience...
How old were you? Nine
Where were you? At my best friend Levi's house
Who were you with? Levi, and his brother
What was the first song you heard that got you into metal? 'For Whom the Bell Tolls'
What was the first metal album you ever bought? 'Ride The Lightning'
What band was the first metal concert you went to? Cryptopsy
Add a short story or more details if you like :
Me and my friend Levi were at his house, we were in the basement with his brother looking at his fathers shotguns and reading his porn magazines. Levi showed me this album that his father had. The cover fascinated me, it looked so chilling to me at the tender age of nine. I suggested we go upstairs and listen to it. I was amazed beyond belief. I was hooked once I heard the ominous sounding intro to 'For Whom the Bell Tolls'. I have never been the same since that day...

How old were you? I can't really say anything about this because I was born on old hair metal.
Where were you? In my mother's vagina.
Who were you with? My mother and possibly my father's cock.
What was the first song you heard that got you into metal? Aside from being born on it. Cannibal Corpse's Stripped, Raped and Strangled would have to be what turned me into a metal head.
What was the first metal album you ever bought? Metallica - Master or Puppets
What band was the first metal concert you went to? None
Add a short story or more details if you like
No thanks.

How old were you? About 8 or 9
Where were you? My stepdad's truck
Who were you with? My stupid dope-fiend ex-step dad
What was the first song you heard that got you into metal? Psycho Man(not sure if that's the correct title)- Black Sabbath
What was the first metal album you ever bought? Children of Bodom- Follow the Reaper
What band was the first metal concert you went to? Just been to local concerts
Add a short story or more details if you like :
I had listened to Sabbath all the time groing up. But I was always ashamed to admit it because I felt so bad. And I have no clue why I did! So I had a friend who burned me a bunch of CD's of bands he liked. I just kept listening to metal and got a guitar. Saw the video for Children of Bodom's Sixpounder, and I was like. "I wanna do that!" My friend burned me hatecrew deathroll, and I went out and bought Follow the Reaper.

How old were you? 14
Where were you? On Earth

What was the first song you heard that got you into metal? Well, it was actually a nu-metal song. I think it was "Stupify" by Disturbed.
What was the first metal album you ever bought? First TRUE metal album I bought would probably be.... crap, I think it was a White Zombie album.
What band was the first metal concert you went to? Ozzfest 2006. Bad experience. My first GOOD experience was this year, at Pop's when Cannibal Corpse played.

Some Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, etc. I think I have Demons & Wizards lying around somewhere; and some burnt copies of Cannibal Corpse. Sad, but I need to get a job and money before I start spending 10-15$ on albums.

I can understand that. A music addiction can be hard to keep up with, especially how most 'underground metal' albums are $22-30cdn($20-28us) here. I do practically all of my cd buying online.

How old were you? 13 or 14
Where were you? My dad's house
Who were you with? My dad
What was the first song you heard that got you into metal? Iron Man
What was the first metal album you ever bought? Black Sabbath - Paranoid
What band was the first metal concert you went to? Ozzfest 2001
Add a short story or more details if you like: At this point in my life I liked to listen to rap and hip hop. I was sitting on my couch with my dad, watching King Of The Hill, and in a flashback the show had Iron Man playing in the background. I asked my dad what the song was and who it was by, which led to him putting on the Paranoid album by Black Sabbath, thus hooking me onto metal forever. At first I only liked old 70s and 80s metal, but I've slowly been getting into heavier and heavier stuff.

too bad most of the bands aren't keepers themselves (meaning the oldies suck now-> shitty new releases)
personally i feel like i'm stuck with all the old stuff. 1st/2nd wave norway and florida death metal pretty much every thing i listen to (exception= emperor, they are from sweden i think)
