There are maybe a half dozen of those that, off the top of my head, are either flat out untrue, based on popular rumor rather than fact, or based on outdated information. I wonder why.

I only read a couple of those...but I can firstly tell you that the " Heinz 57" fact is false. Heinz picked that number because he enjoyed it, and even kept it after his company had sold more varieties of food products than that.

I only got through about 100 and stopped. I hate these little e-mail, e-fact things sent around because the usually contain A LOT of bullshit. If I had enough care I'd throw a few of these into the snopes.com search engine. That site is great.

fuck this, I got to number four and stopped

"Americans are responsible for about 1/5 of the world’s garbage annually. On average, that’s 3 pounds a day per person."

I've taken Math Statistics I've been a garbage man quite a few times, and I can say this is entirely false; although I doubt I needed these experiences to know this is false.

I hate these too. They're mainly done by old people and one I remember that I hate was that "duck quacks don't echo...".Fucking stupid.

I don't think the tongue is the strongest muscle in the human body relative to its size. That would be the muscles in the jaw.

Most lizards, in fact, can not do this. A fair amount of salamanders can do it, however.

20. It’s estimated that at any one time around 0.7% of the world’s population is drunk.

Is that supposed to be 0.07%?! Cause if that's true I'm really goddamn scared right now.

I thought some of these were pretty interesting. A lot of it seemed legitimate, but I agree, some are absolutely false.

Mythbusters tested the duck's quack thing, and found the rumor to be false. The quack's sound signature is just so close to the actual quack that you don't perceive it.

Also, you forgot fact #302: 95% of the statistics used in "useless facts" lists are completely made up out of nowhere.

sorry to shoot you down on that one, but its true. Human jaws arent the strongest in their body, tongue is (wierd), but for dogs their strongest muscles are jaw and neck respectively. Humans dont need strong jaws and therefore dont have them... oh darwinism.

The only thing i have to say about this is... If you know you don't speak english naturally and struggle with it, why attempt to tackle something like "proving" a language thing wrong? Doesn't seem like the brightest idea one could have.
