Weird/Unsettling Artwork
Ok this will be hard to explain.
I want artwork like the one I've posted. It's really weird in a way... The undertones of it. Artwork that could seem harmless but is unsettling in a way, something that makes you think... "thats not entirely right.". artwork that is demented, surreal, but still worldly, not stupid.
something just seems evil about this particular photo.
maybe im asking in the wrong place [metaltabs as a whole...]
I hope you understand what im looking for.

When I read the title, along with Bosch, a bunch of other painters came to mind (Bacon, De Chirico, El Greco, Blake, Kitaj, Rauschenberg, De Kooning, etc), but I get the impression that this kind of painting isn't exactly what the thread's about. I'm not sure I should care, though.

Check out some of the work of early 20th century Polish surrealist Stanislaw Witkiewicz. My mom painted a HUGE version of "Bajka - Fantazja" (translation = "Fairytale Fantasy") when she was in art school in 1982 before I was born; it still is the SICKEST thing I have ever seen. |

Bacon is one of my favorite artists of all time. I went to his exhibit in Milwalkee in April. Good Stuff. |

seriously, guys, that wasnt intentional. i have no idea why the original link re-directs, but i know it works perfect, at school. and that second one really pissed me off. ...someone took the time to do something so absurd, to a really amazing work of art. anyway, the page that the original link redirects to, wont even load, for me, to find a solution. so, maybe i'll fix it tomorrow, when im not stuck at home, with dial up.
