The other night I was alone and woke up about 4:30 in the morning with one foot hanging over the edge of the bed and my heart pounding in my throat. I woke up because I dreamed there was an intruder and they either knocked over my dust mop or hit me in the foot with it. I know that's what it was because I could see it in the dream even though I knew it was in the other room. I laid there in bed wondering if I should get up and check the house, call the neighbor and have them check it, or just go back to sleep somehow. The house makes twice as many noises and they're amplified when you're alone. I had 2 clips and a 9 near me so that was an option, too. I also had to go potty which was a real bitch. I opted to pray for comfort and I went back to sleep. The next morning I wasn't sure if I'd actually woke up during the night or if I'd just dreamed all that.

My neighbor called me later to tell me about the dream she'd had the same night. We went to a scrapbooking convention and I volunteered for something in a demo. They stuck me on an 8' x 16' piece of sticky board and proceeded to embellish my clothes! She said she was telling them to leave me alone, but I was ooo-ing and ahh-ing because some of the stuff I really liked.

My hubby called me while they were roadtripping and he said he'd had a weird dream about me, too, but I can't remember what it was. There must not have been anything shiny in it.

I had this in July of '05.

I am waiting in the baggage drop-off line in Logan International Airport (Boston) and there is a short, kinda old black lady behind me in line. The lady spontaneously begins to complain, not to specifically anybody, about the ever-growing lack of common manners in people these days (perhaps someone cut in line?). I explain to her that people aren't going to change and that if anything, manners will get worse in people over time (idk, weird). The lady apparently takes offense to my statement and instantaneously becomes possessed and starts to dash all around the room in random directions. She stops suddenly and an incision is made across her forehead, almost as if by an invisible knife. All of her skin on her entire body slips off starting at the scalp. She then continues to dash all around the room, this time with all of her skin, intact and not ripped besides at the forehead, dragging from her feet.

most of my dreams revolve around one all important object, and i say the name of it like 20 twenty times in the actual dream, and when i wake up, i can't remember the name of the object.

believe it or not, dreams aren't actually a magical 7th dimension that predict the future/hide something deep and meaningful/etc. they are just random thoughts based on the information you have stored in your brain, go figure!

I can never vividly remember my dreams for longer than a few minutes after waking. I do know that a had about a week straight of nightmares about three months back. That was fucked up.

NO! Dream dictionaries are a piece of shit irrelevant useless way to fuck middle-aged housewives out of their money!

There are two somewhat mainstream stances on dream interpretation - that it's a useless pastime because dreams are triggered by random thoughts and your subconscious isn't really "talking to you", and that dreams are best interpreted using your own personal "dream dictionary" - no imagery is universal, and everyone has their own feelings towards situations/objects and different associations.

I've been interpreting dreams as sort of a hobby since I was about 6 (it all started when the neighbour boy and a friend of his interpreted a rather poignant nightmare I had, which recurred 7 years later). I'm pretty accurate when it comes to my own dreams, but when random people ask me to interpret their dreams I tell them to get the fuck out - I don't know enough about them to "translate" their dreams straight out, but I have guided people towards interpreting their dreams by asking questions (it's a hit at parties). It's a rather vague and woolly practice, with literally nil scientific backing. A lot of dreams mean very little, or nothing at all, and some elements can be "overinterpreted", eg a common setting in a dream is probably nothing special, or a certain object/person might appear in a dream because of a quick, irrelevant association or though during the previous day.

I had a dream that the blended essence of me and my boyfriend was dating Uma Thurman and we went on some holiday and lost all of our money somehow. We decided to make the most of the remaining stretch of our holiday in the most frugal manner possible. We had a little dingy boat left, and went through a historic tunnel of some sort (it was littered with boats). At the end it turned out that the ride was meant to cost us $200, so we sold the boat. We were in debt in a foreign country with no possessions at all, but instead of breaking down Us and Uma Thurman pet each other's faces affectionately and smiled and told each other that we were strong people. Me+BF told Uma Thurman that she was awesome because she was very resilient, and then I woke up.

Interpretation:
Mostly nervous about my financial situation, and partially wish fulfillment (I want to be told I'm resilient). Me and my boyfriend have gone on a couple of very frugal holidays and often take day trips, so that's a common setting. I don't want to bonk Uma Thurman, one of the girls in my lit and ethics classes looks vaguely like Uma Thurman and that idea got stuck in my head. The tunnel is not significant because tunnels, small decrepit boats, and watercourses are very common settings in my dreams.

Then again, it could be me assigning meanings to something random.

There was this funhouse that went around to different cities across the US and it came to Boston and what made this funhouse special was that everyone's experience was different. you walk through it alone and you get your own personal experience, different from everyone else's and your journey through the funhouse is supposed to help you, like therapy. each journey and everything in the journey is based around what you need to change in your life to make it better. Sometimes, your journey will overlap with someone else's. So, I'm walking through the funhouse (which is actually a completely different world in itself) and I'm in this dark park and there's grass everywhere and a paved curvy path and I walk through the path but I'm looking at myself in the third person from above at an angle.. as if I was watching a security monitor to a camera that was 12ft or so off the ground. Then I make my way into this big house that resembles a doll house and everything in this house is a passageway of some sort - very M.C. Escher-reminiscent. you could open up a cupboard and there would be, say a hidden staircase or a hallway... or you could lift up a bed and there would be a bunch of other rooms under it. At this point, I begin to feel anxious because this journey in this completely unknown dimension had been going on for so long that I began to question if it would ever end. I proceed to walk into a bedroom where there are no lights - the room was lit only by the twilight, the drapes were opened. I lay down on a blue bed and then a very slow, thin wave sweeps across the mattress. I then get up and go into a cupboard that is also a door that leads to a series of stairwells and as I am leaving the room, a man walks in after me (I suppose his journey is overlapping with mine). He was white with dark hair, wearing a light blue, long sleeve button down shirt, and never said a word. As I go through the door, he reaches to grab me from behind with a big knife and tries to slit my throat so I grab his shirt and try to strangle him with it and I manage to kill him before he kills me. The end.

The entire dream, in terms of setting, atmosphere, and tone reminds me of an alternative rock music video from the early '90s.

Last night I had a dream that I was in McDonalds watching a midget cook fries as I waited for my order. I saw him deliberately sneeze into the basket full of fries, and upon seeing this, became fucking enraged. I stormed behind the counter, picked him up by the collar and threw him into the big deep fryer full of bubbling oil My bad temper and hatred for midgets even surfaces in my dreams lolzol.

That's brutal. I've thought about that many a time at work as a method of torture with the intent of execution. The grease has dripped on my hand once and it hurt like FUCKKK. I can't even imagine what being submerged in it would be like. Your body would go into complete shock right away and you probably wouldn't feel anything. *cringes* okay I'm done talking about that.



For some time now I've been hearing these weird messages with the occasional vision in my head when I'm in bed waiting to fall asleep, 30 or so seconds after I initially close my eyes. Last Sunday night I saw this lady who's head looked kind of like a skull and had very little hair on it. She was in a dark room sitting on a rocking chair rocking from left to right instead of front to back. She said, "Never walk with a ton of alcohol, because I'm not looking at your hair; I'm looking at your feet."

Another night, I heard whispers repeatedly saying my name as if someone was calling me, "Justin... Justin..." and then the voice cut off in the middle of the name and reverberated dramatically. Then I see a face splitting into two separate faces and then hear the voice from before say, "We'll become warriors."
