It's summer, so I'm studying nothing. The class I had on it's over, but that was more just learning to read it in Italian than an actual comprehensize study. I mean, we did a pretty thorough job of parts, and I learned all sorts of things about Italian prosody, but we didn't study it like we would have if we weren't burdened with becoming proficient in the language. And I didn't have time to study any further. And here's a short history of mod initiation, from the first generation to the point at which I quit, since which time I assume the initiation has progressed:

The very first generation of mods were the valuable members of the first generation of posters at the atmetal Pantera boards. They were the best of the best and chosen based on their sense of responsibility and the intelligence they had demonstrated in service during various bitch wars that had popped up. The next generation, my generation, were replacements for those of that generation who eventually dropped out. By this point there were plenty of valuable members - for example, sane and slayme were around at the time but didn't become mods until later - so a certain sort of discriminatory process was instituted. This was put into place by the Man, nomad himself, who's a very nice guy, so it wasn't too harsh. Just a simple beating with a crowbar, only a few minutes, nothing serious. After that, we got the opportunity to come up with the initiation on our own, which was the original purpose of the mod forum. It was a while before a new mod was needed, so we had plenty of time, and, as you may know, I've a very sick mind. Still, it was a small site, and our parameters were fairly small. All you had to do was successfully masturbate while listening to a Backstreet Boys record in a dark closet and singing along. The Backstreet Boys were a big target at the time. Anyway, the next generation saw people like slayme and the INFILTRAITOR becoming mods, and they're the people who decided that all existing mods should receive either one (1) blow job from the prospective mod, or a coupon for one (1) blow job from the prospy's mater, sister, or girlfriend. This was the deal for a while, then we lost somebody and sane came onboard. sane decided that the intiation should be an etching along the perineum of the prospective mod, in the shape of sane's Escher head. This was the norm for a while, though other initiations were introduced. atif, for example, decided that, in the aftermath of September 11th, it was a good idea to paint the prospy brown and force him to walk through redneck parts of whichever town was available. Anyway, during the turnover to this site, slayme and I disappeared for a while, and when we came back, wally and memnoch had reinsituted the blow job system, introducing only a few revolutions: the act had to be videotaped and the prospective mod had to successfully masturbate while watching it and singing Backstreet Boys. nomad stepped in at this point and the singing part was removed. Anyway, that's more or less how it was when I left, though I believe that, as part of his initiation, the Doctor was forced to not wear denim and crowd surf successfully. I actually stopped paying attention. Was that your experience, powers?

ADEMA Vocalist Quits, Band To Hold Singer Auditions - Sep. 13, 2004

Vocalist Mark Chavez has left ADEMA, according to the group's videographer Brad Nolan. The rest of the band are currently holding vocalist auditions in California and are said to be filming the entire process for a reality-TV show.

As a result of Mark's departure, ADEMA have been forced to drop off their previously announced U.S. tour with DOPE, TWISTED METHOD and MOTOGRATER.

Released in August 2003, ADEMA's second full-length effort, "Unstable", has shifted less than 120,000 copies in the U.S. so far, according to Nielsen SoundScan — substantially less than the nearly 700,000 units registered by its predecessor, 2001's "Adema". The band's 2002 EP offering, "Insomniac's Dream", has sold less than 60,000 copies to date.

ADEMA are currently at work on their next album, entitled "Four Closure", tentatively due in January 2005 via Earache Records.
