my comp is broken
every time i go to open my computers or my documents i get a window that says this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. does anyone know what is wrong or what i should do to fix it? i'm running windows 98 by the way.

i had some error messages because of spyware and shit like that.
run Ad-aware or any other program that scans your registry and HDD's for spyware.

You COULD bring it to your local computer repair place (BUT NOT FUTURE SHOP!), but most likely they will say reformat, beacuse they are lazy fuckers.

Defrag. If it doesnt work, Defrag again (sometimes it picks up shit it missed, its happened to me).
If that doesnt work, reformat the fuck.

Defrag only makes your hard drive faster, it has nothing to do with errors and shit. You have to use Scandisk for that.
Use spy-bot search and destroy to kill all your spyware. download.com has that.
you can go to system restore (in acccessories) restore your computer to a date before this started happening.
And it sound like a virus so get an antivirus prog to scan your computer.
happened to me many times and fixed it
