I put it on the FTP if anyone wants it. If you don't have FTP access, just check Soul Seek.

I have three songs downloaded from Decapitated, I would really like to own an album by them. Maybe I'll make it the new one.

The Negation (their newest) grows on you, but it's not their best.
Try Winds of Creation, Nihility, then The Negation. The Negation is pretty much along the same lines as the previous album, except maybe not as catchy. Winds of Creation is just brutal.

Nihility, catchy ? Maybe Spheres of Madness is, but I don't consider the other tracks really catchy.

A few of the songs have catchy riffs. Most on The Negation don't.

I ordered my copy over the net the other day and I'm looking forward to it arriving early next week. Even if it isn't their best, I'm sure it's still going to be an enjoyable album.

the new Decapitated sure changed... The vocals aren't that low anymore but the drumming got more faster. But I wouldn't buy it, instead save ur money for real good shit like the upcoming Liturgy, WOundeep, BloodCUm (not BloodChurn), and Suffocation.

Yeah.. but I wouldn't be that interested unless I hear that they learned from their mistakes and make a more brutal album than their last one. But yes, I will look forward to it. BTW, Nihilist, are ur parents planning on adopting a child, mmm, set out a good word for me dude!

I got my copy of The Negation along with Anata's new album in the post on Tuesday. I like The Negation but I can't stop listening to Anata's newie, fuckin' excellent!
I found that in a coupla places on The Negation, the drums are drowning out the guitars, but other than that, I still think it's a good album.

I'm pretty much undecided on which is their best album but I guess, I'd plump for Nihility. WoC is a good debut though and their cover of Mandatory Suicide is better than the version Slayer recorded!
I'm gonna give The Negation a little time to bed in because I can hear a lot of good stuff going on.

Haha I remember that. What the fuck did I mean by: "But there not going to do a hole fucking slayer album."
I think I was trying to say "They better not do a whole fucking slayer album."

Yeah, it didn't go down too well, did it?! I still think that the Decapitated version is better - it's just played at a better pace. Slayer themselves speed the pace up when they play it live and it sounds much better for it. Also, Tom's vocals sound better to me in the live version's outro than the spoken word outro on the CD.

Yeah, it's a pretty awesome album all right. They're a pretty special band and still very young (they're younger than me, damn I must be getting old!) so we've got many great albums to come from them yet.

The album has grown on me a little. Still not better than Nihility, but a good fallow up. 2, 3, 7, and 8 are my favoirte tracks but the other ones I feel lack.

Yeah, those are probably the best songs. I like the first and last songs on the album best. I'm still not sure what I think of it - I don't think it's less of an album than Nihility per se, but I still prefer Nihility.
Maybe The Negation is one of those classic "grower" albums that becomes better with each passing week.

Vocalist is pretty shit, but so was Sauron on The Negation. Decapitated bore me now, Winds is the only album I'd ever bother to put in the CD player.

My feelings exactly, I hated the new vocalist when I saw them in september - I'm dreading clicking on link.
[after listening to it edit]
The guitars are better than most of the negation - the vocals are fuckin' dire.

Decapitated is my favorite DM band. I love all their albums. This new song is pretty kick ass. The vocalist doesn't have the trademark DM sound to em. He sounds alot like phil anselmo. I still think it sounds pretty kick ass.

Fuck, this thread is old! Anyway, The Negation didn't grow on me and I am now of the opinion that WoC is at least on a par with Nihilty. This band is going downhill fast.

I think it sounds damn good. Just because it isn't growling or a stereotypical death metal vocal style, doesn't mean it's not good. I'd love to hear more from this CD

Personally, I would have preferred the low death metal vocals, but I don't get what is so bad about the new Decapitated vocal.

I'm digging the vocals - it gives them a different sound. I'm a big Decapitated fan and the only thing I didn't really dig about them was the lack of emotion in the vocals, but this guy has more range and sounds more hostile.
The song itself was good, but didn't really pick up untill the end. That drummer is getting nuts. God damn kids, I think he's only a year older than me.

My opinion has changed about the new vocalist. The vocals were alright at first...but I think they kick ass now. I was shocked that the vocals weren't deep and brutal. But they really add a shitload of anger to the song. Growls are brutal but not really too agressive. This guy just adds a ton of anger to the music. This is the type of shit that like 10 people will die of headbanging too hard at. It's amazing. They just keep getting better and better.

Never really cared for Decapitated, never understood the big "hype" about them.

I have liked Decapitated for a while now. All of their CDs are great. I must say although the vocalist isn't bad ... it isn't right for Decapitated. I really think that they need that deep growl. Decapitated is not a band I ever want to sing along to ... I don't know nor care what they are saying ... all I want is the drums to rattle all thoughts from my brain ... I'll probably still end up getting the CD though lol.

Three Dimensional Defect is by far their best song and it's real fun to play

Am I the only one who likes Nihility a whole lot more than their other stuff?

No. If I ever listen to Decapitated, Nihility is the only cd I'll put in.

Winds of Creation>Nihility>everything else.
Nihility was my first record from them and I love it to death but grew to understand and like WoC way more. It sounds way more organic and moody to me.

No. WoC and Nihility are equal favourites of mine. I think they are far better records than the 2 recent ones, although I do quite like their change of direction with the newest album.

Agreed. WoC has this very raw aggressive sound to it.

Each of their CDs has their own unique sound and feel to it, which i'm all for, and they're all done well. If every CD sounded like WoC or Nihility, it would get old. If I want to hear a Nihility sounding CD, i'll just listen to Nihility. I like having the option of hearing different sounds come from a talented band such as Decapitated.

Same. I hate when a band repeats itself. For example, King of All Kings > I Monarch anyone? For the sake of first served best dressed as far as repeating the same shit over and over again. Every riff on I Monarch sounds like a fucking throw back of KOAK. And every riff has a predictable, "First part of riff" "First ending of riff" "First part of riff again" "Second, longer ending of riff"
See the songs Two Demons, Behold Judas, The Victorious Reign, To Know Our Enemies - Fuck lets just say every fucking riff follows this boring fucking predictable fucking formula that I hate.
In closing I'm happy Decapitated change sound on most their albums.

I think I, Monarch is a lot better than King... The drums are fucking spectacular.
I like every album of Decapitated. Nihility was a good spot for them but i'm glad they moved on. I love the new album, never fails to surprise me with something new every time I listen. Even if it's just Vitek doing some little quick thing on the ride cymbal or whatever. There is a ton of cool shit on Organic.

I Monarch was a step forward from koak, although I like koak it pales in comparison to the other two HE records. Song structures and ideas come across a lot better on I,M.
Can't wait for the next HE, should be out this year.
Change would have favored Decapitated if the riffs on their last 2 records weren't borderline mediocre and if their new vocalist wasn't generic... but they are. They seriously need to pull their act together, forget erratic time signatures/abrupt changes for a little while and sit down and write some good riffs again.
I bought Organic Hallucinosis when it came out but needless to say I was pretty disappointed, but at least I got to see my face on the DVD.

Personally I treat Conquering The Throne separately from KOAK and I Monarch, because the song writing structures on KOAK and IM I think are quite similar, only I find IM more boring because it sorta sounds like a KOAK part 2 to me [which is bad IMO.]
I think Conquering the Throne is HE's best record, then KOAK. I hope the new album is nothing like I,M.
Personally I think the newest Decapitated album is the best aswell, and I love the vocals. Funilly enough I find the songwriting on Organic to resemble Hate Eternal alot in areas... especially on like Poem of an Old Prison Man [or whatever...]
Invisible Control is a wicked song though.

Haha I do too, in fact Vogg mentioned "Thank you Erik Rutan for the inspiration" section of the booklet. I believe there was a Decapitated/HE gig in the US where Vogg borrowed Erik's guitar for a few songs as his guitar went out of tune.
They have the other guitarist from Erik's old band Ripping Corpse(also from Dim Mak) in HE now, as well as Alex Webster and some new drummer. Sounds like it's going to kick ass.

Yeah, I see what you mean by that now.
Invisibly Control is my favorite song off the new record. The riffs on Organic are amazing in my opinion, I think Decapitated are heading in the right direction.

I just heard Organic Hallucinosis. I loved about half of it, the rest I could take or leave. Kind of like The Negation. The best songs were, oddly enough, the first and last tracks.

I was wrong about the best tracks on Organic Hallucinosis. On second listen, Post Organic is way better than the first track.
