Preps Breaching the Metal World
I just started this thread to ask for stories about the increasing amount of fags who are coming up to me and telling me how they like In Flames and Immortal. What the fuck! I joined the world of metal in 8th grade. I orginally started out listening to nu-metal bands like Godsmack, Korn, and shitty bands like that. But then I started listening to In Flames and eventually gained so much knowledge about metal and I started to respect and listen to the bands fully. Then today this fag that I had seen earlier comes up to me and asks me what the best In Flames album is. (I had seen this kid wearing a Chevelle shirt and listening to some punk rock shit) I naturally didnt tell him, but the he said to me, I love reroute to remain. I swear I was about to punch the damn kid in his face. I wold like to hear more about these stories, and I would also like to wage war on the preps and the imitators who pretend to listen to metal.!!!!!!

My reply
I saw that this topic was closed to more replies so ive started this one. I think this is not a good way to go on!!! (no offence to any of you) But is this really the way to get people into rock/metal? So what if he dress different to you, so what if he hasnt long hair (i know that wasnt said, but). I think if a kid comes up to you and asks you whats what, you should tell him, otherwise he's gonna go off thinkin all metalers have the same attitude!!!Is it so hard to tell him what an album is or where he can get it? I have gotton so many kids into metal, some of them were not the type at all and now they are 100% into metal. I suppose you all just knew what was good? huh? When I first got into metal I was listenin to Michael Jackson (I still do) I wasnt even listenin to anything remotly heavy. And the people that showed me what was good didnt give a shit what I was listenin to, all they cared was that I showed interest in G'n R, Metallica, Slayer.... blah blah blah...... And they showed me who was who and what was what. Now I do, its a circle, you are in it or your not!! Give the kid a chance, never know he may someday turn out to be in a band you reallly like!!!! Cheers.

Think of it from a perspective of a person who is really shit. They have been shit they're entire lives and suddenly they start listening to metal. They feel like they belong somewhere, because in the metal world, its ok to be shit. Instead of jusdt listening to the music, they change the way they dress, the people they hang around and basically they're entire outlook on life. So then this kid comes up to him, a kid who is neither 'true' or 'hardcore' and starts asking him about some of his favourite bands , hoping to find out a cool album he can buy. Now from this metaldudes perspective, this can be very frustrating. They can't belive that the one thing they pride they're life on can simply be picked up and enjoyed by someone else. They see it as undermining they're very existance. Its pretty easy to understand.
But yeah, I agree with you metaldave.

Basically, Corpsevomit is just another ignorant, egotistical metalhead. He thinks he is better than everyone cuz he listens to underground, heavy music. If someone else wanted to know about a band he likes, and they like some pop music, he throws a fit.
Every retard is up In Flames and Cradle of Filth's ass for getting popular. I bet the same thing will happen to Shadows Fall soon. They have been getting pretty popular. Many people I know are getting in to them.

From memory, this thread was closed. Starting another thread to reply to it is stupid.
In conclusion...
