I really like some of the pieces I've read at the Lyric Forum , but you've gotta have some more ideas out there. That place should be booming with lyrics! Take some of your energies of creativity and create your own atmosphere. Some of the stories I've read here are hysterical. Some are damn scary! Write some songs!!! (I know some of you do post there and you don't count in my rant. ) But get a storyline going to music. Write a metal opera. I dare ya!

You guys are way too creative to not make some memorable pieces. What do you think? Try a progressive thread like with your story threads here and see what happens.

metal opera!! sounds like a good idea.
it could work.......but we'd have to pick a select group of people to contribute lyrics and music. i don't think it'd work if EVERYBODY got to contribute.

we need someone to coordinate the music (someone to decide who the guitarists and singer will be, and arrange the music)
and someone to coordinate the lyrics


we'd have to decide what the story would be on, and agree on the music somehow.


we could make the opera into mp3s and upload it to Nihilists FTP.

it could work, but it could take a while and it'd be hard. but i'm game if everybody else is!

Do all the deciding in the mod lounge, so it won't be molested with shit.
Decide like what atif said, one person write the story.
A coupe of people write lyrics, and some others write the songs, in different genras.

There already is a metal opera, Tobias Samset's(or however you spell his name) Avantasia - The Metal Opera. There are 2 parts

but i spose we wouldn't make a faggy power metal opera
i guess if it were to happen we could bring in different genras
e.g. go from power to thrash to black to hardcore
although unless done verry well that would turn out to be gay

Has there been any more discussion about it in the mod thread? I like the idea of having different styles throughout. That sounds cool.

And you guys took it farther than I thought you would. I was just trying to get more life at the lyric forum, but doing music and stuff sounds neat. (That's an old lady term.)

Gotta tell ya about remarks like that. Walpurgis said he'd probably go to Captain's Mast(that's bad) for using terminology like something is "gay" or "jewish" because the military considers them to be racial slurs. Good ole Wally.

good idea too Bobbi, I guess it might work. I haven't been posting a lot in the poetry forum because I don't have much digital.. most is written in my school books and stuff.

And yeah, Wally said the instructors have to show professionalism so they don't swear. When his teacher said something about a butt-ton of something , meaning a lot, Wally asked how that compared to a shit-ton. Which was more ? The teacher told him he was gonna be a problem.
And now he's talking about going to flight officer school and being an astronaut. Oh boy........ Drunken yeti god in space...THAT sounds like a metal opera !!!

Yeah, but then there's some, like I was, that learned a heck of a lot from reading some really good pieces. And I know you write well, p'o't'.
We've discussed copyrights and stuff at my other forum. Some do and some don't. But I've asked others to use their pieces and I've been asked, too. I don't worry about it much. At least one person I know adds the symbol and year to his pieces though.

Would someone want to come up with an outline of something and we could start to build on it at the Lyric forum?
