I posted this in guitar forum but sence not everyone visists there, Id like to share it with the nonguitarists...
This has got to be the biggest crock of shit I have ever seen. Im sending syphulis infected razor blades to the fuckers at Rolling Stone. You know theres a problem in the world when Kirk Cobain is number 12, Joey Roman is number 16 (even though I love the Romans, he shouldnt be on here) Jack White is number 17, Eddie Van Halen is number 70, and Vai, Ynview, Becker, or Martyfriedman is not on there! In all honesty, I believe that they didn't even think to hard when putting that together. They probably got togther a bunch of names and just wanted to add a "Top 100" list to sell the magazine. Once they had a bunch of names it probably took them 15 minutes to put it together.

Hasn't everybody already decided that being ignored by all the media is equivalent to, or even better than, being any good? So you should be GLAD all your favorites are getting more or less ignored! Okay, back in my day , that was the '70's Rolling Stone was an upstanding magazine of music and politics. The last time I got one it wreaked. Too many ads for stuff that insulted my intelligence. Articles that were substandard to even my thinking capabilities on a bad day. It sucked. The photography that used to be a real highlight back in the days of Fleetwook Mac , Bob Dylan ,and Annie Liebowitz talent were gone. Cleveland was voted the Rock Capital. (Which I always knew anyways.) And copies passed around at school like golden scripts.
What a disappointment.
A lot of the guitarists listed are okay. Many are brilliant, but to not have some of the truely greats on there perpetuates their idea to go mainstream instead of having some balls and respecting true artists. They lost that long ago as far as I'm concerned.
