I'm at a stage where, on the rare occasions that inspiration comes to me, I either can't reproduce it(be it on piano, guitar, or pc esp in guitarpro, where it's easier to have the pc play impossible stuff heh), or I'm somewhere where i just can't even try to put it down on paper(for example the other day i had a very nice melody...but i was walking in the middle of nowhere, nothing to write it down or anything...when i got home i had lost quite a bit of it, or it got modified in my mind)

so i'm wondering...how do you guys keep track of the melodies/riffs/licks that come to mind when you dont have your guitar near? I've been considering buying some voice recorder but with the cisco CCNA exams coming up soon(150$US or so), i wont have much budget for a recorder...

Where ever I go, I always have my cell phone with me which luckily has a memo voice recorder on it so I just hum it into thier. If your going to get a memo recorder souly for the perpous of sining guitar riffs into, I suggest getting a cheap and crapy one.
