Growly vocals.
Ive been trying to do these lately, but it really hurts my throat, i dont understand why. Whats the proper way to do these without fucking yourself up?

The way I do it is i sorta suck my stomach up and in and curl my tongue a little and just try and yell...but in a low voice.

Too many people think that their is a science to this stuff. As you growl more, your throat is able to take it for longer.

that's true, but there is a science, and you can really fuck up your voice if you don't know what you're doing.

That is all very true, what I meant really was, it's not like George Fisher has a PhD in Growl Vocals. I'm sure he just picked up a mic one day.

dude, just go low and raspy. thats it. u have to be able to naturally distort your voice. and if u dont have a naturally low voice----youre screwed. thats wut it takes. theres really no way to explain it. listen to henry rollins, i know its not so metal, but itll help get ya there.

i really think people just have to have some sort of natural talent at it. practice is a must but to make it sound GOOD you gotta have something inside you
