The Hulk did indeed rule. Ang Lee raised the bar on the comic book movie way high. Good script AND good acting. Beautiful cinematography, and bitchin' direction.


It's too bad the public hasn't really caught on to that movie's asskicking-ness, most people were disappointed in the lack of shallowness the movie had. They were expecting All Hulk, all the time and no story.

I heard on t.v. that the Hulk's profit had really been hurt due to word of mouth. It had a great opening but the next weeks were less than expected. T.V. never lies!!!!!!!

I just downloaded Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. I think I have listened to it around 30 times today. H.I.M.'s version is pretty good to. Maybe just a bit slow with a weak interlude between the 2nd and 3rd chorus.

I know you're implying here that rappers only write about stale, cliche, and superficial topics, and that's one reason why you think they suck.
but i have a strong suspicion that you've only listened to mainstream rap. Because those are the only topics mainstream rappers rap about. Rappers that are more underground, write intelligent lyrics about politics, society; basically more intelligent stuff.



Some of them actually rap without speaking in ebonics.



i'll agree with you that much of rap music is just the same "beat" over and over again, and many rappers don't have a clue to what the heck song structure is, but there a few rappers who do, and they don't have "computers that make the music for them". examples: Beasties Boys, The Roots: they have actual musicians who play their own instruments that are used to make the "beats".
but yeah alot of them just implement a drum machine, and a synthesizer/keyboard
Which, by the way, is not as easy as it sounds.
Making music by the computer or machines does require some skill (Fat Man's Struggle took me a long-ass time, and it involved some thinking too), i'm sure the average rapper (the ones who write stupid lyrics) probably doesn't even know how to use a computer, they hire session dudes to do it.
however, the good rap groups have friends that are part of the group



nah, only the mainstream rappers talk about "life in the hood"
but in reality, it's very hard to write intelligent lyrics and rhyme them too.
it's hard to freestyle (even listen to the crap in 8 mile by eminem, you gotta admit that the rapping he did is pretty hard to do)
some rappers don't even write down their raps before they record, they just freestyle.

the thing is, you gotta parallel rap to metal. the way you're talking about rap, it'd be the exact same as a rapper talking about nu-metal and confusing it with real metal:
bad lyrics about the same cliched topics, no technicality, they "sound stupid", etc...

bottom line is, you seem like you've only heard rap on the radio (but i feel in your post that you were generalizing all of rap), and of course those rappers are chain cock-smokers.
