in india every third band is a maiden wannabe or a metallica wannabe or a megadeth wannabe.........most bands strive on covers...and that too the most repeated covers......the number of bands coming out with good stuff is very less...is it the same scene everywhere...or is it just here.........and i';m not talking about bands which are out on a label.....i mean bands which are unsigned

there's like 10 bands at my school alone, how the hell should i know
about the rest of texas, or the country. but i can tell you that the bands
at my school are either punck or rock, and there's like two that are heavy
and hardcore.

over here (NJ, USA) we have a huge hardcore scene, at the moment anyway.

there will be a New Jersey Metal / Hardcore Fest (i'm fucking loving it)

they said it'll have mostly the same acts, and even more, cause there is more room in the venue that they're gonna use, compared to the New England venue.

If you're a metal fan, live in the US, and you don't know anything about this fest? your missing out. The best line up ever.

In holland we have a grindcore and punk scene

and a superbig hardcore scene with european leading bands, backfire!, convict, to name a few, man, there's heaps of hardcore gigs here, it's pretty big here in the underground.

as for metal, yeah, some grind but heaps of DM too...

Here in Michigan everyone plays the emo bullshit. Not one good band comes from my school and its a very very VERY popular and big school. That goes to show how bad Michigan sucks. I've been to Florida and Cali several times and caught a lot of underground death/black metal bands that were decent. Mainly Slayer influenced bands. Yeah...Michigan blows.

California scene is lacking on new bands. But we get alot of good shows. Mostly Death Metal, Thrash, and some rare Grind.

I'm in Colorado and the is almost nothing but emo and ska out here. If there are 20o or so local bands out here, 6 of them are metal. That's just counting the ones that aren't playing the bigger venues. The ones that are metal though are pretty good, mainly death and metalcore.

My band is gonna start playin some bigger places within the next couple of months, I'll post some mp3's eventually...

Eastren Canada actually had a pretty good metal scene. With maybe 1 or 2 Nu metal shit bands the rest are either death, black or thrash metal. There is an average sized punk scene here too.
