my best friend is my vocalist.. a good one.. unfortunately, he recruited his other best friend as a backup vocalist. the new vocalist isRAPPING. my best friend doesn't want to scrap the voclaist which is poisoning my METAL band. i do. but i dont want to lose my good vocalist at the same time. what do i do???

how about, instead of being kinda ignorant and closeminded, you actually give this rapper a chance, try to creatively implement him into your music, and come up with something fresh that hasn't been done in a long time?

i'm not talking about nu-metal. that isn't fresh. that'll die just like glam rock did.

i'm saying, combine real metal with rap (Anthrax with Public Enemy), have a rap song with a real song structure and guitar solo, rap with a growly voice; only a handful of people have ever done that!



but i know you're not gonna listen to anything i said, so just tactfully tell your good vocalist, that you like him, but you don't like the other vocalist, and you feel that this other vocalist is distorting the direction of your band. Tell your vocalist, "Either that vocalist goes , or i go", 'cause i know you don't wanna be in a nu-metal band (because combining rap and metal instantly makes it nu-metal, right? )

no actually my guitar riffs are original and are peiced together by me alone. all i do is have a furious jam session and take what i can from that. it's amazing what you can do with three chords.

You could find some diplomatic way to get the fuck rid of him. Seriously. Treat it as an exercise in good sense, if you have any.
