I'm not into the whole gore thing, but I thought I'd post this as its the worst thing I have and will ever see, so please, brace yourself for this one: The Irvine Tapes Pt. 1
This is some old footage (I think 1960s) of a black man being skinned alive by a group of white dudes and then being thrown in a salt pit where his mother and 2 children are chained and forced to watch (heads in vice grip, eyes taped open). Its not the gore that bothers me in this one, its the fucking sounds. As they tear the strips of skin off of his body its remarkably loud and sounds like someone unwinding a roll of thick tape. After a few minutes his voice goes out from screaming so much, and by the time he's in the salt pit he just kind of wiggles around and lets out a strange, faint moan every time the family takes a gasp of air from sobbing and screaming uncontrollably. Apparently the second part of the video is the men gang raping the family, one by one, in front of each other, but I never watched that. The back story is that the black dude had sex with one of the white guy's wifes. They were never identified because of their masks, so there was never any justice.

I've been meaning to ask about that. Why would anyone want to see dismemberments of living people? For real that is, Hellraiser remains a favorite. For my own part I've seen an overdosed corpse, a cut off finger and something entirely unwholesome involving a leg and a car crash; and I can't remember ever feeling enriched by the experience. Is it different on tape?
