Yeah, it's weird, see a lot of countries are supporting the US but not in war efforts, but in helping with transport and supplies.

I heard belgium will not let the american troops thru the antwerp harbour. but the americans have been using Europoort for 4 months now (Rotterdam, world's largest harbour) and they've probably got the biggest part of their forces in Iraq allready.

we've really noticed a huge troop movement here, trains and boats alike, there was no way around it.

I just hope saddam doesent think of Britain as a threat.

My belief on the war on Iraq:
Bush has been determined for a long time that he will start a war against Iraq. The point of this war is to get Saddam of his position of power, so that Bush can place a US friendly government in his place. This will give a nice place for furhter army bases, and a good amount of oil. The disarming of Iraq is not a high priority.

My opinion:
Bush should stay the f*ck out of Iraq. It's none of his business if Saddam is a dictator. It's none of his business if he kills "his people" (the kurds, who are as much his people as the jews were Hitlers people). Many people in this world think that Bush is unfair to his people. Are we launching military operations against the US? No. That's not our job. It's up to the american people to take care of that.
However, the disarming of Iraq is US' business (US being part of the UN). But Iraq claims that they are not in possesion of any weapons that are not allowed. Rumsfeld has said that it's up to Iraq to declare itself free of WMDs, that no other country should have to search Iraq come to the conclusion that they don't have anything. Well, why doesn't he trust Iraq, then?

This is only my opinion, expressed as calmly as possible. If you find anything in the above text which you think is really bad, please try to respond in a civilized manner, as it never was my intention to upset anyone or start a flamewar.

I thought it was that they have to prove that they don't have WMD... which, since 1991, they've been in violation of a UN reso that required full disclosure. They still haven't.

As for knocking out Saddam... US established government is doomed to fail. Oil, maybe. New gov't? no way. Sure, he'd like to see Saddam out of there, but there are really only two ways to go: 1) US gov't (which would fail), or 2) another warlord/military dictatorship.

BTW, the repeated references to killing Kurds isn't why Bush thinks we should go in- it's to show that Saddam isn't afraid to use the weapons, and could use them against the US. Anyway, who's saying Bush is "unfair"? I'm not defending the dude here, but that's a new one.

Did you hear about that one story? British troops were on the border of Iraq, awaiting the order. So, they spent their time practicing and thus firing a few rounds for target practice. Then, out from Iraq, a whole unit of Iraqi soldiers came waving the white flag. They thought the war had started and were surrendering. The British had to tell them to turn back. This was a true story.

Lol. Well the "Final Warning" has just been announced for those who missed it. Bush gave Sadam and his brothers 48 hours to evade Iraq or he will declare war. Just more time for them to launch nukes...or for bush to think. Either way I think this should have been done WAY before. He also demanded that they not burn the oil wells or else he will take more action. Obviously he pointed out that oil is a major factor by making this clear. They will probably burn them anyways. I was watching T.V. and they interupted the show, I was all anxious because I thought they had declared war. But it was the mayor of Orange County (or L.a., not sure) about security. They did show this video of cops beating these protestors. Literally, they cop pulled his arm all the way back, twisted his torso, and swong at a minor female. From what I saw, the protestors where not attacking the cops. Tax dollars at work

Vietnam wasn't a declared war. Neither was Desert Storm or Korea. Vietnam was considered a "police action" and Korea was a "conflict" if I remember right. We didnt' fully declare war for either of those because they weren't threatening the United States at all, we just stepped in as part of the Communist containment policy.
