I know this is an old thread...though I think I might be able to help here. I was tryin to find an "official" pronunciation of Bodom on the web and ended up here. Anyway, I always assumed Bodom was pronounced Bow-duhm...as in a bow that you shoot...not to bow to somebody...since that's how us americans would say it. My friend used to argue that it was like the word bottom but with a D instead of a T (which is basically how we say bottom anyway here...nobody bothers to annunciate the T). I've seen CoB live twice now and both time they played Silent Night, Bodom Night and Alexi announced the song both times...and I swear both times it sounded almost like he was saying Bew-duhm Night...like ewwww that's gross. I think it sounds more like a germanic U...like a mix of how we say ew and ooh here in the States. That's odd because in Bodom Beach Terror it sounds very distinctly like Bow-duhm. Anyways...it's definitely either Bow-duhm or Bew-duhm...

Oh, and another popularly fucked up name of course is Dimmu Borgir...I've got the DVD and have heard the band members say it so many times...It's DIM-moo BORE-gear...Dim like to dim a light, but with a very slight "ee" sound to it...it's NOT DEE-moo like i hear a lot, much closer to dim. It's like how the norweigan's say a 'y' or the germans say a ü...a norweigan guy used symmetric as an example and how they say the word compared to how us americans say it (we say it just like simmetric). And BORE is like saying something is boring, or to bore a hole out of something. The accent is definitely on the first syllable of each word as opposed to DIM-moo bor-GEAR as I have often heard (and used to say it, oops). And also, Dimmu Borgir means Dark Castle in Icelandic...so I bet the norweigan band members are probably saying it wrong anyway so I guess there's no point in trying.

Now to some other things that I have some questions about:
Naglfar (heard Nag-uhl-far, Nahg-uhl-far and Nahyl-far)
Swanö (Swan-oh, or does the umlaut make it sound weird?)
Kalmah (Kal-muh with Kal like Caliper, or like Call?)
Samael (Sa...american style or british style? "a" vs. "ah")

For Children Of Bodom I think it should be pronounced

I say Kalmah as in caliper and I would take a wild guess to say that Samael would sound like Sam-a-el ("Sam" as in Samantha, "a" as in a bottle of Jack, and "el" like Elsavador). My friend says it like Sam-i-el, like the letter "i" and not "eeee." Ha, And he says I say it wrong.
