Who's the Man?
Hope I can get away with placing this here, as I suspect there's a lot more people watching this forum.
A while back there was a "Who's got the highest screams"-thread; a fine example of the fact that all you need to do to be called metal vocalist these days is to grab a mike with your hands and grab your balls with a pincher while crying about your sister who won't let you borrow her pants.
So, partly as a counter weight to that but mainly because its fun to talk about good music, here's a simple question and five alternatives. If you have another favorite just post him/her, but here we want real singers and please don't burp up anything else. Or do burp anything else and then kindly oblige me by throwing yourself onto something with many sharp spikes.
So... who's the Man?
My vote, after a bit of pondering in the car, is good old Dio. But it's a close call.

I like shrieky vocals, but I could never tolerate King Diamond for some reason. Bruce was a close second for me, but Halford just has so much more power and a much better range.

I've always liked King's stuff, but it might be more because of the lyrics and the stage show.
I've been listening alot to these five the last month and I just feel that Dio has at least a little bit of all the others, with all the power of a kick in the groin. But damn, Dickinson in the lead. Can't have this.

The poll results show proper ranking, though-
1. Dio
2. Dickinson
3. Halford
4. Dee and the King tied for last. I enjoy both vocalists, but neither draw deserved comparison with Ronnie fucking James fucking Dio. Dickinson and Halford, though they fall short, are around the same tier.
