There should be a law banning stupid from Guitar Pro who are tone deaf and rhythmically challenged. Looking for some tabs of Body Count (Mainly "There Goes the Neighborhood"), And everyone of them was the same thing, and it was all wrong. On top of not bothering tabbing the bass or drums, the tuning was wrong, parts of the rhythm were messed up, and the tempo changes were nonexistent. And I know, if I know what it sounds like, I should just tab it out myself, but that's why I go to tab sites; so I don't have to. I'm not expecting perfection, but if you're gonna write music, especially other peoples music, do it right, y'know?

Gotta hide the CD player, or remove it if that's a possibility, or get a LOUD car alarm. Otherwise, that's just going to keep happening. Unfortunately. Car stereos and GPS's can't be kept safe by glass. A few years back, a guy broke into my car to steal some CD's sitting on the back seat. That you could sell for, maybe, a dollar apiece. He broke into my car for about $10 worth of stuff. That pissed me off as much as anything else. But crack's a hell of a drug.
Rochester's 5-6 hours from the city, depending on the route, so if you were too I'd be more than a little surprised (since it'd mean that Rochester and Saratoga Springs are just different names for the same place and I could have been throwing stuff at Tranny's house all this time). Just for reference, Toronto and Montreal are both about 3 hours away, Philly's about 4, Boston is 5, Chicago and D.C. are 8-9. Living in New York State gets you no breaks when it comes to getting to the city.

yep. the cd player meant very little to me. (although i will hide the next one). the cds however... damn it. fortunately it wasnt my big case. it was the medium one. BUT, i had stocked it with some of my favorites for the long drive i went on 1 week ago.
overall, not a huge loss. just very aggravating. |

Living in New York State gets you no breaks when it comes to getting to the city.

i know the record shop i work at would never buy cds in a cd-booklet anyway, for that exact reason. maybe a pawn shop. or maybe you had cds sitting in the back in cases?
anyway i keep cd-rs in my car too for the most part. and i use my ipod for music on my computer and at the gym. which really makes me question why i still buy cds

I keep my CDs in their original cases. Shockingly, my CDs are much less scraped up than those kept in books. Since that incident I make sure you can't see all my CDs from the street.
Actually, a few months ago the cleaning guy at my restaurant (I'm currently a cook) got fired because he stole a cook's CD book. Something like 300 CDs all together. Incredibly, incredibly stupid move (losing your job for stealing something that would bring in less than one week's paycheck), but there you go.

Who'd have thought not dragging it against a scratchy surface every time you went to listen to one would have a positive effect? CD books make the most sense to me as a part of CD manufacturer's scheme for planned obsolescence, since they'll scratch the discs up quickly and make you either buy a new copy or at the very least a new CD-R.
Actually that's one of my major problems with the There Will Be Blood 'special edition' DVD I got - you pretty much can't take it out without scratching it. Unless you do like I did and put the DVD's in sleeves and just put those in with the packaging. But I shouldn't have to correct a manufacturer's design flaws, now should I?

I've always been pretty careful with CDs and my car. If I bring a CD in, I keep them in the case and store them in the glove box or middle console. I used to be really good about burning anything I wanted to bring in, but I get lazy. Luckily, I've never had anything stolen.
However.. once about 3-4 years ago I was taking my mother to the airport and, at the time, I had one of those CD cases which was holding about 30 real CDs. We were in a rush and I had put the case on top of my car while loading luggage so, of course, I completely forgot about it and drove off... never found the case and I felt fucking retarded, even more than I normally do. So after I fucked a retard I decided that cases were retarded so I fucked one of those, too. They also do scratch everything.
