Veterans Day USA
All of you that have served or are serving in the Armed Forces, THANK YOU from me and my family. And all other peace keepers throughout the world, too.
Happy Veteran's Day

I have a few buddies over there right now and two that were (both hit by an ied, one lost his leg the other almost has almost no strength in his arm) they should have our thanks everyday but unfortunatly many people forget about them unless its some holiday.

yeah not only that but half this country doesn't even respect them because they 'dont believe in the war'. No matter what your view on the war is, you should still respect the soldiers because they are giving their lives for this country every day.

Yeah, I think half is an exaggeration. Most liberals love the troops and have lost friends and/or family (my brother lost a good friend, Lance Cpl. Michael Ford of the USMC). Conservatives, for the most part, love a good (or bad) war, and so are automatically assumed to love the troops. This isn't like Vietnam where veterans are spat upon in the streets and dubbed 'baby killers'.

I don't think i've ever met anyone who didn't respect a US soldier of war. I always assumed that those who opposed war opposed the government for going to war, not the soldiers who were sent to war.
Cheers to everyone who's served the country

There's an amazing set of photos from the front lines on www.boston.com/bigpicture/. It should be on the front page, titled "Afghanistan's Korengal Valley". Definitely check it out.

haha ok guys, half wasn't a literal term but you get what i'm trying to say. I've met a lot of people who don't give two shits about our soldiers, but then again it might just be northeast PA

Darko, those pictures were really good. Thanks for posting that. I'd heard about the man in the last couple. Everyone should see those.
There's a girl from my church who's an Army nurse in Iraq and she has a special program going on with hospitalized Iraqi's and their families to give stuffed animals and hard candies to the children to help them when they visit their parents. She adds a letter monthly in our bulletin and the last one she described an incident that young child drew her pictures and told her she loved her. If anyone thinks there aren't positives going on as well as the negatives, they don't know what they're talking about. It's things like that that will make a difference when these kids are adults.
