Ah, but every genre has exceptional bands and run-of-the-mill (i.e. generic) bands. If your claim is that they don't belong in the genre because they aren't the most generic example of it then you seem to have more of an issue with the concept of 'genre,' which is pretty pointless. And yes, General Lee is not as much of a joke as the Wolfman, though I'd say that it's strange that Iced Earth actually seem more cheesy when writing about topics (I assume) they take seriously, like 'the glorious burden,' than when writing about topics )I assume) they don't care about, like traveling in Stygian.
And since I made no claims about how you take music I've got no problem being considered wrong in my claims about how you take music. I said that metal is, with a few exceptions, shallow and that people who take it very seriously tend to impute more depth to it in order to feel deeper for liking it, which is why we have words like 'pretentious.' It was a general statement about taking metal oh-so-seriously, and while it was directed at you in the sense that it was on a topic you brought up, it was not directed at you in the sense that it was intended to be descriptive of your listening habits.
And I have no idea about 'music that often interweaves anger, often philosophical and darker concepts that is constructed with higher energy that is better than what I'm describing.' There are three reasons for this:
1. You haven't given me an indication of what you consider to be 'philosophical and darker concepts;'
2. I'm coming back after months of inactivity on this board, and even before I left I wasn't so obsessed by you to know whose lyrics you take seriously because they're dark, abstract, and philosophical, so I actually do need that indication; and
3. You're not describing anything. You didn't just finish describing anything. Your previous posts didn't describe anything except in the vaguest of terms (like 'philosophical' and 'abstract internal topics'), which are meaningless as you've used them.
So, you see, I can't compare all the music in the world to something that doesn't exist (i.e. what you're 'describing'), according to vaguely defined criteria. It's just not possible. Now, if you'd like me to comment on your very own approach to the music you listen to, I'd be happy to do so with the requisite background information, but that's just if you really want to have a conversation. If you just want to feel the injustice of having been judged over the internet by some asshole we can stop right here. Personally I'd prefer the latter, but let me know.

Is it completely neccesary to describe the terms that i used? It (at least from my standpoint) seems fairly obvious what those terms mean or how they could be used in music. Even if vague, can you not come up with examples that satisfy vague concepts? Isn't that counter intuitive to say you can't come up with examples using broad concepts rather only detail ones? Even if it doesn't satisfy the true essence of my post not authored to be as descriptive and as detailed as possible?
"Most of the bands I listen to i tend to. Melodic death, and some thrash bands. Alot of melo death bands touch on some abstract internal topics that i think are pretty good."
This is what i originally wrote.
In combination with this and:
"music that often interweves anger, often philosophical and darker concepts that is constructed generally with higher energy."
It seems pretty easy to construe what i'm talking about. Music, that has an angry feeling to it, has philosophy (i.e. abstract internal topics, and discovering personal truths), darker concepts (black dahlia murder often writes about things like killing lovers, suicide, necrophilia, and just in general stuff that implies sadisitc thoughts) and construction with higher energy (this in ways is a redundant characteristic in conjunction with anger as often angry music has more energy than non-angry music).
I'm sorry but I don't feel offended that you needed an indepth response to something that probably doesn't require one, (if anybody who reads this agrees with you on the confusion of my request to you, then i retract my argument in its entirety.) You know me by now and you know i too am an asshole. I didn't request you to give me examples of the music that i'm looking for for any other reason than you claiming that most metal bands (which would include, it sounds like, the music i listen to) poorly tackle serious topics.
Now again, I laid down the topics I enjoy (anger, personal truths, dark/sadistic concepts, and high in energy) and again I ask, give me some examples of bands or songs that you consider tackle those concepts better than:
The Absence
At the Gates
Black Dahlia Murder
Between The Buried and Me
Dark Tranquillity
Darkest Hour
Death
Soilwork
Its not neccesary to reply to each, rather the overall feeling and lyrics imposed by the majority of those bands.

It's the same as killing another human being; if you have the right mindset before going into it, it's easy as fucking pie.
Sadistic/Untrue/Retarded comparisons aside, he really shouldn't overthink it, that's what'll screw him over, and what'll make him look like a tool. It's not that big of a deal, if it happens it happens, and if it does, common sense should take over.

What the same as killing another human being? Even most criminals are nervous as hell when they kill their first victim, unless its in a fit of rage which would make it unplanned.
Knowing Req just from the forum, he will find his self being nervous.
Also, like you said its not a big deal. This phenomenon happens to a lot of people and ones its said and done, hell he might start getting it left and right from girls or in his real case guys.
However, most of you might find this next statement a bit of an opinion. Before I had sex for the first time it seemed as if my mind was somewhere else, I never concentrated on sex and actually didn't want it.(By the last statement I mean I was never in a situation to get it so why worry about it). After doing the dirty deed for the first time i actually found my self wanting it again...so Req just be prepared! Its like a drug cant get enough here lol.

You are definitely speaking the truth on this one.
Luckily you can always get a caprisun in the ass easier than its designated mouth area.

Not a very good comparison, but true nonetheless, in a strict sense. The hole's much bigger in sex and there're more of them, thus increasing your chance of getting in one of them.

I'm sorry, but because you've acted in some amazing/any movies doesn't make you above the law. I think in their higher position they should be penalized more often and harsher. Fair? Probably not, but i think it would do more good overall.

Interesting. I'll keep that in mind if visit Montreal when I do visit Canada. There's a couple Canadian metaltabbers I'd love to meet, and Bob is most certainly one of them. If he makes me laugh as much as he does here, I'll enjoy every minute of company.

Well that's between you and him. He's one of the first here (among others) that I can say I have no problem with at all and I would love to toss back a couple with him.

Great example would be college professors. I could only imagine if they were writing....
Some of their english grammar is atrocious.

Well, you're doing well so far, it took me over 2 years to get round to shifting mine! Didn't sell the first time on eBay too, then when i put it up again a couple of weeks later, at a slightly lower price, it sold within 12 hours, and the guy picked it up the next day (this morning).
It's tempting to sell one of my JCM900's too, but i can't decide between them... 100W dual reverb, so i've got a clean and a dirty channel, or a single channel 50w without reverb, but it has a better tone than the 100W... decisions, decisions!

I can definitely see the issue with that. I'm not sure what i'm gonna get. Either a mesa dual rec or probably a jcm900 thats modded. I have 2 crate blue voodoos and i only use one of them. THe other sits underneith the one i use.

Devourment are just plain fun. Brutal death metal can make for a jolly good time...but just like any form of music, you gotta sift through a lot of bullshit to find the gold.

They're very hard to describe. Think Cryptopsy with epic atmosphere, insane drums and guitar, awesome growls, and smooth spoken word/clean parts. They can go from brutal to laid back in a heartbeat and make it work.

lykathea are not simply "brutal death metal". they do much more. like MyOwnSavior is saying. ...they are melodic enough for me, anyway.

public internet.
i wouldn't be surprised if 3+ people have done trolling under the "gooch" title. therefore, if anyone can (and quite obviously has) done this, then why would anyone "love" the gooch.

you should 'czech' out lykathea aflame as soon as possible....
but seriously, the best way to describe them is whacky style czech tech-death with grind and prog influences. think !t.o.o.h.! but in a totally different direction.
what's with the last track on the album? what a total waste of 12 mins

What I meant (before realizing it's not necessarily one person) was to think Infinity could be Gooch is to think he is doing it out of spite, and being that Gooch was around before Infinity had an apparent reason to spam, it's improbable it's been him all along... but rather only the last two appearances (as you suggested), if at all.

I'm the second MTer to have had the pleasure of meeting BOBZEMETALZUZZ.
We met in the Paganfest line-up, had drinks there, drank at a pub afterwards until exhaustion got to the best of us. Great guy, will definitely try and meet up with him again. We got a few pics from the show which I'll get a hold of soon.
I'll probably be back for ATG in July, Kevin!

Just out of curiousity, did he sound like Toki Wartooth? No offense, his english is really coming along, but for a while, everytime I read his post, that's whose voice I think of...... sorry, I'm a little tired. haha.
Been working on some new music that I'm kind of proud of. It's to this song. Started with, like, 18 tracks, but GP wasn't playing all the voices when all were being played, so I had to cut down a little. Stupid GP.

Yay, it's Dutch Queensday again!
Time for some faux nationalism, drinking lot's of expensive lukewarm beer from stands, and rummaging trough piles and piles of attic crap.
Can't you tell I'm exited yet?
