Music & Emotion: New Century Edition!!!
Anyway, it's NOT the new century edition:
Music & Emotion Test
This consists of many questions that end up telling you how you felt during a song. This is not about how you generally judge music, it's just about YOUR reactions to a specific genre/piece.
I compared Sigur Rós and Cannibal Corpse.
Sigur Rós-Untitled 1 (estimations):
Wonder: 4.5
Transcendence: 3.5
Tenderness: 2.5
Longing: 3.1
Peacefulness: 4
Power: 1.5
Joyful Activation: 2.1
Inquietude: 1.5
Sadness: 0
Cannibal Corpse-Pounded Into Dust (estimations):
Wonder: 1.5
Transcendence: 2
Tenderness: 0
Longing: 0
Peacefulness: 0
Power: 3.5
Joyful Activation: 4
Inquietude: 3
Sadness: 0
Good Luck

Anyway, this is pretty short and fun. I find it really interesting, because it is related to emotions and music. But if you really don't have seven minutes Doctor... maybe peer pressure will force you to take the test! Everyone is doing it around my place.

It's only a matter of time until unbearable boredom forces him into trying it.

Well, I'm sick and puking, so I could use an excuse to listen to music.
And then I just had to test between these too...
Nightwish - Wishmaster
Wonder: 5
Transcendence: 5
Tenderness: 1,5
Longing: 2
Peacefulness: 4
Power: 4,5
Joyful activation: 4
Inquietude: 2
Sadness: 0
Nightwish - The poet and the pendulum
Wonder: 1,5
Transcendence: 2
Tenderness: 1
Longing: 5
Peacefulness: 1,5
Power: 1
Joyful activation: 1
Inquietude: 2
Sadness: 5
And thereby it is scientifically proved. Whatever you want to call the stuff they packaged in their last album... it can also be labeled disappointment.

Haha, probably because I really dont think this little music test shows us a whole lot. I think it's just a bit too straightforward, if ya know what i mean? Haha I don't know how to word what I'm trying to say, but basically it's like "do you feel sad" and say you put down a 3. Then the results come back and it's like "sadness: 3". Well no shit, I just told YOU that. I'm not learning anything new here. haha I dont know, it's real late and I'm like half asleep. I hope this post made sense, if not then fuck it.

Haha yeah I get what you're saying... it's pretty much just a survey that relays the info back to you, it's pointless, doesn't really analyze your emotions.

Well you would need to gauge those emotions to write them down, therefore making you think about it and trying to put a number to it. Just arbitarily assigning a number to it without doing much thinking of course its dumb and you're not analyzing your emotions, because.... your not analyzing anything.
Although i don't really see much to really gain from the test.
