phil, there is a huge difference between gun rights and gun LAWS. here in canada you can have guns. just not automatic machine guns and assault rifles. hand guns are harder to get. but all the small arms like shotguns, semi's and long rang rifles are 100% allowed. The biggest things that decide an "evil" assault rifle to these dim-witted politicians are:

A retractable or folding butt-stock

A threaded muzzle break or flash suppressor (not to be confused with a silencer which IS legal with proper documentation)

High capacity magazines

Bayonet lugs

Automatic guns are also legal here with the proper documentation. Which in turn, the majority of americans that want to keep their "evil" automatic weapons have the proper paper work.

anyway, I actually like Ron Paul, but I don't follow the whole Libertarian/right nationalist ethos. And what I liked about him was that he contrasted so harshly with the other GOP candidates and made the Rep debates fun.

Some principles of Libertarianism/anarcho-capitalism are interesting, but they only are at the expense of being horrendously flawed(ideological free market capitalism, little to no central government, the nutjob conspiracy theory that seems to run rampart in those circles).

Most libertarians(RP supporters) are much like rich kid, trust-fund, anarchists/communists.....both groups advocate a political system they themselves would not even remotely survive in.......if those systems even were to sustain.
