Kinda Sick of crap
I've been listening to death metal for prolly 2 jahren
and since i've heard death, cynic, atheist, and pestilence
I haven't found anything that i really like.
Gorguts is an exception,
But those florida, thrash-death, raw unperfected vocals, and most importantly
catchy-riffed bands are the only things that caught my ear.
Hate grind
hate tech
hate suffo
hate suff-clones
CC is aight
hate Deicide
what are some bands that are like these
Thrash recommendations are welcome too
I like kreator, coroner, testament, metallica
so yeah, am i the only one who hates post '93/'94-ish tech, uber-brootulz?
thanks for the help!
EDIT: btw i love bolt thrower

No, you're not. I find myself liking old stuff from around the early-mid 1990s and anything before. Although Edge of Sanity for example, whom I adore, released their last album in 2003. Try any of their albums; I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Also, how about Disincarnate, Carcass (even though you said you hate grind), Sinister, Sepultura (namely Beneath the Remains), y'know, the gewd stuff. But other than that, I'd say you named most of them.

Catchy riffs. Hm, sounds like Obituary for me.
Destroyer 666 is a joke live, has anyone ever seen them play a good show? (seem 'em twice, sucked, twice)

Check out the following albums, dude:
Hellwitch - Syzygial Miscreancy
Destruction - Infernal Overkill and Release From Agony
Crematory [Sweden] - Wrath From The Unknown
Grave - Into The Grave and You'll Never See
Massacre - From Beyond
Nirvana 2002 - Disembodied Spirits
Malevolent Creation - The Ten Commandments [way thrashier than Retribution]
Dismember - Like An Everflowing Stream [though I like the demos of this album better]
Mystifier - Wicca [sick ass early black/death from Brazil]
Merciless [Sweden] - The Awakening
Dark Angel - any of the first 3
Cancer - Death Shall Rise
Carbonized - For The Security
Atrocity - Todessensucht
Psychosis - Lifeforce
Monstrosity - Imperial Doom [Cannibal who?]
...and last but not least early Immolation, like "Dawn Of Possession", but "Stepping On Angels Before Dawn" is a collection of shit they were doing even before that.
I have a shitload of other obscure extreme-thrash-almost-DM that I'll probably recommend later.

"Cause Of Death" has everything going for it but for me it's boring as fuck. If it wasn't for James Murphy doing solos on that album I'd never put it on. However to their credit "Slowly We Rot" is good and Obituary kick ASS live.

Denial Fiend (feat members of Massacre)
Death Breath (Feat members of Entombed, Repulsion and Grave)
Rigor Mortis
Frightmare
Ghoul
Blood Freak
Lord Gore
Splatterhouse
Engorged
Reeker
They are largley influenced by old school death metal, thrash, doom, grind (good grind) and punk (good punk)
oh and Pungent Stench and Deceased. Those guys fucking rule.

Definatly check out those I've been listening to a mix of Engorged and Ghoul constantly for the past two months. Also, check Impaled. It may not be what your looking for, but it has members of Ghoul and they write some good stuff. Love their solos and interlude-like parts.

Holy fuck dude, I beg to differ. I HATE that CD, all those "anthems" sound so lame and harmless! Not to mention that atrocious "The Alliance of Hellhoundz" song.
Oh, and Hidrio's taste is awesome.
