jons solo (the first in the song) was a bit off, micks solo is pretty crazy. no idea what shapes hes sweeping. i dont and never have listened to malevolent creation for leads, not to mention guest leads from people i dont like
so i dont really care.

How, because he can play the exact same beats at the same tempos as every other death metal player? Yeah I guess he is pretty good.

his style is my absolute favorite. he doesnt play the same way as everyone else at all. despise the sun and evenomed have some really CATCHY drum parts which to my ears are few and far between
hes kind of drab with gorgasm and withered earth but i love his beats. check "archaic" on the new cd

Haha, alright. Thought you meant his blast beats and double bass. That's what i remember most from his playing.
I did like the new song, I'll check out the new album soon.

That's why I only have the first 3 albums and more recently, Warkult. I've always been scared of some more disappointment.

if you like warkult youd love the will to kill, i think warkult is actually their worst album.
they went a different direction with ICB and eternal but luckily they got back on the right track with fine art of murder and its been smooth sailing since then. and theres nothing wrong with ICB or eternal, theyre just different, less thrashy more deathy, albums. and for those that liked that style, check divine empire's albums. the album redemption was the lineup of ICB minus phil

Morbid Angel are vastly superior and way more influential, anyone with any remotely decent taste in death metal will agree.
MC only had 2 decent records, the rest was just a big pile of meh.

The one where Brett goes, "schfggG! schfggG! schfggG! NIHILATION!!" It's an awesome song nonetheless, always makes me headbang no matter what I'm doing.
How can a diehard Morbid Angel fan call Malevolent overrated? I just don't get it. Maybe it's me.

I got some albums (A, B and C) by Morbid Angel a while ago in a serious attempt to get into them but I just couldn't get into them much.
I was really disappointed with Stillborn, enough to put me off getting anything else. It sounds like Brett Hoffman wanted to be somewhere else when he recorded the vocals.

stillborn is way better than it gets credit. rubin has some amazing solos (the song stillborn has awesome leads)
the production sucks but not as bad as it could (its not breeding the spawn bad). there are some awesome melodies going on there riff wise. very catchy.

This is one of those bands that I can probably name their entire discography and have heard nothing but good things about them, yet to my knowledge I've never heard any of their songs. I need to get around to that it seems.

They should re-record some songs from Stillborn. The re-recorded version of Breeding the Spawn on Pierced from Within sounds great.

The re-recorded Prelude to Repulsion on the 2006 album is my favorite track thereof. I wish they would re-record the entire album. Maybe they plan on more tracks in the future?
As for MC, I strongly like the Ten Commandments. The rest of the stuff I've heard is good, but fails to connect to me in the same way.
