NCAA FOOTBALL
it's on... why doesn't it have a thread?
LSU/ Miss St are 7 minutes from the half and MS is holding their own.... I'd almost like to see State win, but if LSU is as good as everyone thinks they are I dont want to see them take a loss and basically ruin their chance of a championship. We'll see how it goes...
this thread is now official.

You should change the title to "NCAA Football" so there isn't confusion.
I just want to see how Notre Dame does this year. I don't really have a favorite team for college, I just like to see good games.

me too... and this is almost one.
Miss. State's defense looks great but... nothing makes you look like a big shitbag like back to back interceptions with 4 total thrown in the first half.

LSU is not one of the best teams in the nation. If it wasn't for those interceptions it would've been a hell of a lot closer. That was one of the worst performances by a QB I've ever seen.I fucking can not stand LSU(unless they play Alabama or Tennessee) so thats just me venting I guess.
I am a huge college football fan, like half of my room is decorated with Auburn shit the other half Michigan.
Michigan is going to have a killer year, they've just got to get past Ohio St. if they plan on winning the national championship.
Auburn........not so much, with their road schedule and all.(though they will still beat Alabama)

yeah.. LOL at that game. it was 3-0 when I made this topic and then it sort of went awry. LSU didn't look impressive at all but MS did all they could to help them out... 6 interceptions is the school record I think.
EDIT: hah, I just found this elsewhere:
Quote:
Mississippi State Quarterback Michael Henig attempted suicide last night. Henig, distraught over his terrible performance against the LSU Tigers, in which he threw a school record 6 interceptions, jumped off of the top of Wade Davis Stadium in Starkville Mississippi. Luckily, LSU safety Craig Steltz was there to intercept him.
|
anyways, I'm not strictly an Alabama or Auburn fan, but I love a good train wreck story, so it would be funny to see Alabama fail miserably this year. I'm kinda sick like that.

a baseball game is like 3 hours long.. the ball is actively in play for 6-8 minutes. If you like a game that doesn't distract you much, sure.

Yeah, between them and USC for the BCS title I predict. I saw Pat White in the state high school championship a few years ago(he is from Alabama) and he was so good it was scary.
FSU looked fucking awful.

FSU is fucking awful. bowden is over the hill. USC (cali) is unbelievably overrated. they play a cake schedule with one tough opponent (cal). you drop them off in the SEC and they lose at least 3 games. same deal with west virginia, the big east is the new pac-10, a bunch of middle of the road wishy washy programs.the pre-season rankings are completely fucked, they shouldnt be set until at least week 3 or 4. i suppose its never occured to the powers that be that some conferences are significantly weaker than others.the sad thing is that if these teams cruise through their creampuff scehdules, theres almost no way some of the more deserving teams can jump them. division I-A desperately needs a playoff system, cause the BCS is a joke. that being said, pat white looks like the second coming of jim brown right now.

I could not agree with you more on most of that. Yet, USC will be in the Rose Bowl at worst with two losses(doesn't matter who they lose to).So thats why I picked them. They would be 8-4 at best in the SEC.
I believe the Big East to be the third toughest conference out there because, you lose one game, your fucked. You have little chance in hell of getting to the BCS title game. So far it looks like WV will run the table in-conference; and as far as I know, their non-conference schedule is laughable.

you my friend, know your football. i agree with your take on the big east. its tough to gauge the talent of a louisville or west virginia without seeing some decent non-conference opponents. i think USF will suprise alot of people in the next few years.are you from close to miami? xgrafcorex and i lived in boca/lauderdale for awhile, but i just moved to the carolinas, and hes off to boot camp (insert the village peoples "in the navy" here).

dont underestimate the power of the owls. theyve got a legitimate shot at a conference title and a bowl bid.
i bet your dad is in shambles right now. no doubt drinking heavily and crying at the sight of anything blue.

I've always been somewhat of a fan, but when they drafted Ronnie Brown I was sold. I like the Bengals a lot too.
My predictions:
Vtech 21 LSU 17
Auburn 28 USF 10
Alabama 31 Vanderbilt 14
Oregon 24 Michigan 21
Oklahoma 42 Miami 17
TCU 21 Texas 14
Georgia 28 South Carolina 7

my picks
LSU 35 VT 7 (if tech does mange a score it'll come on defense or special teams, either way i smell a blowout)
auburn 24 usf 17 (the bulls are underrated)
bama 31 vandy 0 (the commodores are without hope here)
michigan 45 oregon 38 (no defense in this one, whoever has the ball last wins)
oklahoma 21 miami (fl) 10 (miami's got the speed on defense, but their offense wont hold up)
texas 20 tcu 17 (despite looking like shit last week, texas isnt as weak as it might seem)
georgia 28 usc 20 (another heartbreaking loss for spurrier and company. the conference is too tough, and the carolinas just dont have the talent to compete with the recruits of florida and georgia)
and my lead pipe lock for the week is gonna be me coming out on top over a case of beer, a fatty, and possibly a steak.
