Death/Thrash
What are some bands that have thrash style riffs and solos but have low guttural DM growls? Thanks in advance

Sepultura.
Maybe not very deep vocals, but it's worth checking out Thanatos, Pestilence, Rigor Mortis, and Demolition Hammer.

Serious? No way. IMO. Way more to the grind side compared to what he's talking I think.
I heard Defleshed was good death thrash.

True, but most of them consider themselves death-thrash.

I used to have Engorged's CD and damn it was pretty bad man, it was practically plagiarized IMO. Ghoul are pretty cool.

Most of my favorites have already been mentioned, but just to get my opinion out here-
Coroner
Kreator (esp. around Pleasure to Kill)
Nasty Savage (esp. Indulgence, Penetration Point, Abstract Reality)
Pestilence (esp. the first and third albums)
Possessed
Testament (mid 90's to present)
Rigor Mortis
Vader (first album is very thrashy)
Some bands had more of a primitive DM rasp (ala Altars of Madness) rather than a growl (ala Covenant), but death style vox nonetheless. It isn't especially difficult to find death/thrash bands, since thrash more or less evolved into death. Those thrash bands from the 80's that still exist today (as few as they are) either mellowed to a more mainstream sound or evolved to a death metal style (ala Testament). It's harder, though, to work within the confines of death style vox, which seems to appear later in death metal evolution, after the last vestiges of thrash had vaporated from many such bands.

yes! Vader. especially the first 2 demos, Morbid Reich and Necrolust.
Sabbat [Jpn] (some songs are like what you're looking for and some are more black/thrash)
Morbid Saint
Infernal Majesty [None Shall Defy]
early Death
later Sarcofago, namely The Laws of Scourge
Drunkard

Funny how Ghoul rarley use blast beats and non of these bands are grind. Their songs are far too long. Some use blasts and have some grinding elements but nothing that can be considered grind.
You should really really find out what grind actually is before telling us what to list.
Sorry but you have no clue what you are talking about here.

I never said you do. But grindcore is generally based around short songs. I don't know of any grind band that has 3 solos a song and plays for 5 minutes and uses very little blasting. Grind is simple. Not a lot of technicality or variation. Grindcore is based around punk more than metal. Very simple riffs, fast as hell drumming, intense vocals and short bomb blasts of songs. Ok some songs are longer. But those bands are not even close to what grindcore is. They just have grind elements.
Kill The Client, Rotten Sound, Old Napalm Death, Regurgitate, Terrorizer Repulsion, Cretin, all those bands are grindcore. Because those bands show what grindcore actually is.
Now Splatterhouse, Frightmare, Impaled, have grind elements. Very few. Mostly it's thrash/ Death style riffs with a few blast beats thrown in.
Ghoul is the farthest from grindcore out of any on the list. The first album ok they had blasts. But the last two albums I think the used 3 seconds of blasting through the whole record. Bassically Ghoul are D.R.I. with Carcass vocals.
What's next people calling Devourment goregrind? Oh wait that already happend here. NVM.

Angst up in this shit DAMNNNN!
Back to the thread I am sure someone listed Dekapitator before, what about Asphyx? Chemical Breath, Cadaver, Deceased, Hellwitch, Insanity, Kilcrops (its in Spanish... They are from Colombia ~ So you most likely couldn't understand the growl either way), Mercyless and Merciless (France and Sweden respectively), Morbid Saint if they weren't named, Mortem (Peru), Mortuay (Mex), Necrophagia (seasons of the dead/demos onlypleasekthx) Num Skull, Nunslaughter, Pentagram (Chile), Sadistic Intent, Solstice, Umm damn I am running out of unsaid bands
NERLICH could be classified as Old school Thrashy Death... www.myspace.com/nerlich i believe is the page... Awesome shit best album of 07 is their new one (relatively, it was recorded like a year ago, just got released to the public in january or february)

THe french one sounds like Testimony Era Pestilence, but the singer sounds more Drunen then Schuldiner. As opposed to the Mammeli Clone of Schuldiner on Testimony.
Swedish Merciless gives massive rifferections too no douuuubt
