Hey guys, its been a while - I've been offline for about a year... here goes:

Friday last, about the 18th of May, I had another run in with the law. I thought I'd start a thread to see how mine compare with other peoples.

Ok, so id been drinking...duh...and the power went out at the biggest club and neighbouring small clubs in this small town. So it being 1 am everyone in that street made a mission to the last powered club up the street, which is inconveniently across the road from the police station .

well after that place, which is usually pretty quite got way way out of control with the entire town in it, the pigs rocked up. just one van parked outside and 2 cops jumped out and started hunting various offenders. seeing an empty cop car, with open windows i decided to steal the fuckers car keys - which i did - and returned to the club and to safety.

after a few more drinks i left the club, only to find a coloured cop waiting outside. Constable Erasmus.

CE: Hey boy, get over here, you stole my keys!
ME: No i didn't.
CE: Don't lie to me, ur in serious trouble.
ME: Prove it.
CE: We have an eye witness.
ME: Where? show me. (I knew any drunk that saw anything was at home asleep allready)
CE: *kicks me straight in the balls with his giant steel toed boot*
ME: Jou mas se poes! (translated: your mother is a cunt!)
CE: says a bunch of shit i don't remember and then throws me in the van.

well after getting the charge changed from theft to drunk-in-public (by having a good South African law knowledge and having allready ditched the keys), I spend the night spooning a bunch of homeless black drunks and smoking tari (the ditchweed of SA) in a cell with about 30 of us.

Now it's Monday night and my testes are still fucked, and i can only hope his car is still keyless.

ye it was pointless, but if he hadnt kicked me it would have been worth it.

Im a trainee for the police. This is quite insightful. You're lucky you didn't get charges of theft especially when its government property because it could have been a felony, meaning you would be imprisioned for at least a year.

so i could have been in 'serious trouble' for stealing (although not really as i was drunk enough), but the cop could be in more for assaulting me unprovoked.

i rate having some asshole hurt your balls for a week is a violation of my human rights.

If you do something stupid with cops, you should expect police brutality. Most cops care more about being respected than about keeping the peace or enforcing the law, and it's a dumb, dumb thing to show them disrespect. For example, it might get you kicked in the balls with a steel toe boot and then charged for the privilege. It might get you knocked off your bike by a cop car and then charged for the privilege. It might lead to all sorts of violence against your person, with the added insult of a fine tacked on and the cop not being so much as lightly reprimanded. This is because the cops hold the power and you hold fuck all. So let this be a lesson to you.

Now, this is nitpicking, but the length of a week hasn't been changed from seven to three days.

Indeed, I've always shown respect to Police(well..when I didn't run) and I still never been arrested/fined/visited the drunk tank. Hell, a military cop drove me and my friend halfway home(would have been a 3+ plus) hour walk after almost getting charged with Public Urination. It was the middle of February last year and about -20C outside.

personally i've seen the local cops do to much massively illegal shit to give them 1 drop respect. I don't know how it works ur side of the world, but around here the cops are bad man, bad. ive witnessed: pepper spraying of innocent minors (and i mean 100% innocent), sale of drugs, all kinds of purpose-less traffic violations, tons of brutality and more.

now im a cheeky motherfucker and often deserve what i get. i didnt want his car, i just wanted to disrespect him. i also probably would have done the same in his position. in high school my vice principal beat the shit out of me for mouthing off, and i would have done the same in his position. That is why I, like them, shouldn't be allowed to be a cop or school principal. in the end in both situations i got away with my actions with nothing but a beating (no police record, no suspension from school), simply because the authority was also in the wrong. this means the system failed, because the officials couldnt show self-control.

ohh, and btw 3days hasnt become a week. but i dont expect my black testicle to become a pink 1 within the next 4 days. and i also don't think you should ever have to expect police brutality, unless you threaten their or anothers safety.

There are ways around dealing with problems including the police, but disobeying the law and just being an absolute cunt is a stupid way of going about it. I've never had a problem with the police before, since I make it one of my priorities not to make a problem. If they think I did something wrong, I'm not gonna be stupid enough to talk back to an officer.

In your case, you DID do something wrong and you're making yourself out to be the victim. That's just.... lame. Sure, the cop may have been a little extreme by kicking you, but that's the law of cause and effect, which is not restricted by any law of man.

i got thrown against a wall, then to the floor, with the cops knee digging into my back for.... yelling "fuck you" to MY FRIEND, on the side of an EMPTY parking lot. the cop did not announce his presence to me, nor did he give me a warning. in fact, before throwing me against the wall, he walked up, behind me, and grabbed my hands, behind my back. i didnt even know it was a cop. had to sleep in jail for the night. on the court day, some dude, who speaks to the people first, took me to a room. i told him that me and my friend were just messing around, and that the cop just came out of nowhere and threw me around. the dude said "we dont have a case here. we're sorry, and you may go now." The stupid cop actually showed up. as i was leaving, i had to pass right by him and gave him a mix of these looks

ive heard this too much to not say how i see it. dude, sitting your fatass on the side of a school zone road, waiting to catch someone going 10 miles over the speed limit, whether or not children are present, is NOT even close to a "life on the line" situation. tons of cops do it. i realize there are tons that do encounter danger, but making all cops out to be fucking super heroes is ridiculous. i also realize that making all of them out to be dicks, is also not right, but maybe id feel different if i had EVER really been helped by a cop, as opposed to being fucked over, in which, i have too many times to see them as deserving much respect at all.

Anyway, I didn't say you have to have respect for cops. I have no respect for most cops and actually feel a good deal of contempt for them and their gang-like behavior, especially in Chicago. But you do have to show it to do what you can to avoid being charged around $100 for the privilege of being beaten up by a cop. And if showing something you don't actually feel is beyond your abilities, then just steer clear of cops.

yes, it certainly is wise to, at least, PRETEND to respect them, when confronted. ive lost my temper a little, with a few of them, but in the end they realized why, and i apologized for not controlling myself better. in fact, the last time that happened, the cop siad "wow, you must be having a bad day". i said "i am". and he let me go, with a warning. now, this wasnt a regular police officer, it was something like constable, or sheriff, AND he lives on my street, which probably helped him be a little more nice, which doesnt make much sense, when i think about it... anyway, i didnt mean to sound as if ALL cops are shitheads, in my last post. just mentioning that so that no one takes it as that. hence, the "most" and "dont deserve much respect".

the parking lot incident? its like i said, i yelled "fuck you" to my friend. we werent doing anything. we were there because our other friend was meeting us there, since he didnt know how to get to the house we were going to. in the report, the cop put that he THOUGHT we were going to fight... well then, its a good thing he didnt THINK i was about to shoot my friend with an invisible gun right?

I thought about it randomly the other day. It kind of ticks me off that we have that.. "natural" instilled feeling that when a cop or a cop car is around shit all of a sudden gets tense and i think htats about as big of bullshit as thinking every cop gives a reason why it SHOULD be like that. If that makes sense. It somehow feels that those 2 things are related and lead to a kind of circle build up of tension between both parties. It would be juvenvile to think that cops don't think about how they are percieved. Would you want a job being told to over come extremely difficult and awkward situations on a nearly everyday basis? Its NOT an easy job and i personally feel that in most respects officers of the law deserve respect JUST AS much as we as citizens deserve similar mutual respect back.

I've been tlaked to by police and just other people when i was skating a spot and they act like absolute assholes about it and there is no call for that. There sometimes happens to be this treat everyone as a criminal attitude which needs to change just as much as our attitude about "oh fuck the police."

BAD COP STORY!

I went to school with this one dude ( I will not mention his name or what High School ) that became good friends with me and my friends. I knew he was just using us to score him weed and booze as he needed it, but the relationship developed a friendship. At first he seemed like a cool dude so we invited him to parties often. I wasn't a weed smoker but many of my friends were more than happy to help him find good bud for many years. We also knew how to score booze on very short notice. He was a good friend that had some great parties. We always made things happen for him when it could be done..

This went on for years. At age 21 he joined the city police but he would still get party supplies from us old friends. Cop or not, he was still a buddy. A year after that ( I was in the Navy at this point ) the prick got flipped and organized a sting one night. He arrested both old friends and new made many new enemies that night. I wasn't there but my friends said he was acting like a brainwashed machine. Like he didn't know anyone.

This guy had the nerve to burn the people he personally knew. Not a good ideal if you know what I mean. Seems his own police comrades don't really trust him now either. Would they burn their friends for a few brown nose pot and liquor charges?

Never burn your bridges and friends. They can never be replaced in your life time.

When I was arrested with a friend of mine for attempt of theft and possesion of weed one cop who was interogating me punched me once(the funny thing is he told me to take off my glasses first haha) and my friend was hit more than me.Motherfuckers!

got only 5,5 years prison and then he appealed and got probation or something like that.

Anyway, I've been arrested close to 20 times and while I think they were wasting taxpayer's money for the vast majority of the petty shit, I've always maintained respect, because they were doing what their job requires. I will say that the cops never have the right to kick someone in the balls, it's not their job to lower themselves to the standard of the criminal.

Today while driving I seen a turtle crossing the road. I see no traffic, pull over, turned the hazard lights on, and got out to get the turtle. Still no traffic but far down the road I could see a car. I grabbed the turtle and started walking to the creek the turtle was headed to. No big deal so far...

That car turned out to be a state police officer with a very bad attitude. He started to blaze my ass with some language that only a Sailor could appreciate before he even get out of the car. He was fucking pissed! Seems I was endangering innocent people, included him, by stopping on the side of the road, and I was going to jail. I was shocked at his complete lack of professionalism to say anything. I couldn't believe I was about to go to jail on my wife's birthday for helping a turtle cross the road. All I could do was stand there silent holding a turtle that was now pissing all over my hands

He continued ranting for another 10 seconds, got in his car and drove off still pissed off. I couldn't believe this shitbag disgrace to good police had just verbally assaulted me on a country road and drove off. W T F?!

I let the turtle go and left.
