I just recently got into this band, saw them at California Metalfest. Very unique sounding, their album is really addictive haha... melodic parts sound very good but some edge on metalcore which sounds almost out of place when you first hear it (listen to the song Leica), but its all put together very well. Overall, really freakin' great stuff

i seen them last night... idk the one guitar player seemed rather sloppy but then again the venue isnt the best either. i was definitely bummed! but Beneath the Massacre was amazing!

There's something about this band that I just don't like. It could be the odd synths, odd riff structure, odd breakdowns and maybe the generally odd atmosphere.

Too flawless in a bad way, sounds electronic almost. This band is ridiculously overrated.

Just discovered this band.

I was in Hot Topic(I wanted a shirt, dont give me flak ) and I was looking through the CD's and saw a cool logo and it was The Faceless. I figured it would be some lame ass deathcore like JFAC or the even more generic Underneath The Gun but it's actually good DM.

BTW, the shirt I bought was an Iron Maiden Nordic Tour shirt(Eddie vikings on front)

I've had their album for like 3 months, saw them on summer slaughter. I like them quite a bit. Necro was awesome too, fucking beneath the massacre, decapitated, and cephalic carnage cancelled. So I was way pissed when I couldnt see decap and btm.

If this is death metal then i will say that i dont like the direction death metal is heading one little bit, there mediocre, sure they have some technicality but technicality doesnt equal good music.

I checked them out on myspace. I was pretty indifferent towards "Pestilence". "an Autopsy" is a decent track - sounds like beneath the massacre slowed down about 50 bpm. The next one had a similar feel but it had some lame "In Flames" style poppy riffs, but I liked the clean passage at about 3 mins. I think the vocals are pretty lame, they get boring really fast (and, again sound just like the beneath the massacre vocals).
For me they invoke the same reaction as Beneath the Massacre. Great for 5 minutes, and then I just get tired of it

The Faceless is easily one of the best decent death metal offerings. Blows most so-called technical death bands straight out of their paddling pools.

Anyway, I like this band a lot. Seen 'em twice. They do so many things that you've never heard before. There's a whole lot of innovative shit going on. But there's plenty about them that doesn't really do it for me. Occasionally they touch on that metalcore type shit and their solos are too generic. But overall, the good outweighs the bad in this case for me, so they get the thumbs up.

Not at all. I love complex music, but it has to be done well. For me, The Faceless just don't hit the buttons. The music is decent but it's not top drawer as far as songwriting goes. There are plenty of examples of music like this, Beneath the Massacre and Sleep Terror are two examples. Very technically impressive but after 3 or 4 tracks I'm bored.

You're talking about this band as if they're ultra technical and they really aren't. Don't get me wrong, these guys piss all over my musical abilities but there is much more complex metal about that has the beautiful combination of technicality and good songwriting. I just dont think these guys have a notch on bands like Goratory (Rice on suede album), Spawn of Possession or Theory in Practice.

The Faceless are pretty badass. Indeed I agree with the rest... after a couple songs, I find myself becoming quite bored. They do have the brutal technical aspect covered, but techniques are often overused.
