Awsome to see you are getting into the old school stuff some old school Death Metal, Death Thrash and Grindcore bands I recomend are (and some are fairly new bands but play in the old school style)

Abscess
Avulsed
Blood Freak
Blood Feast
Benediction
Cancer
Carcass
Coffins
Death Breath
Deceased
Demilich
Dismember
Dr. Shrinker
Engorged
Entombed
Frightmare
Ghoul
Gorguts
Grave
Impaled
Impetigo (one of my all time favourite bands)
Jigsore Terror
Lord Gore
Macabre
Machetazo
Massacre
Master
Mausoleum
Napalm Death
Necrophagia
Phantasm (the death metal one)
Phlegm
Possessed
Pungent Stench
The Ravenous (Feat. members of Autopsy/Necrophagia and Brutal Truth)
Repulsion
Righteous Pigs
Rigor Mortis
Sarcofago (more black metal/thrash but still awsome)
Six Feet Under (as much as people hate them their older material is quite old school sounding)
Slaughter
Splatterhouse
Terrorizer
Unleashed
Winter
Xysma
Zombie Ritual

You pretty much named them all yourself, there wasn't a whole lot of death metal in the 80's. The most interesting and important ones you don't have listed are-

Possessed
Carcass
Coroner
Pestilence
Kreator

Most of those bands were death/thrash as DM was still in it's early stages of evolution from the mid 80's into the late 80's. It didn't really start to diversify until the early or mid 90's.

I'd also heavily recommend checking out Nasty Savage, especially Indulgence and forward. The lyrical content disqualifies them from death completely, but they were heavy as fuck for mid-late 80's thrash. Good shit.

Also if you're into Atheist and Cynic, check out Alarum.

I need to check out Coroner myself, I heard one song, and was blown away.

Ok man, look at the bands he listed. Do you really really think he is going to like even half of the under produced boring bland unoriginal gore grind and death metal bands you just listed? Sure, there are some relevant bands in that list but for fucks sake.

Hey he asked I gave all the old school stuff I had. I don't care if he looks at it or not.

Oh BTW doc I tottally forgot Frost. Well anyway add that to the list. I mean if it's not too bland and unoriginal that is.
