Favourite Black Sabbath album?
Well?
I can't come up with a favourite right now. I'll sleep on it.

Sabotage, with Master of Reality a near second. Both the pinnacles of their respective phase of the band's sound, with my preference tending towards the slightly later, more adventurous stuff. Though I guess I don't really pay attention to them after Sabotage.

Vol. 4 by a long shot. I's fucking genius. How can you go wrong with songs like Supernaut and Cornucopia.
Masters and Sabotage are tied for 2nd.

I used to really enjoy that song, but it gets old. However, Hand of Doom is on the same cd and it is MY alltime fav Sabbath track.
Past Lives is another badass Sabbath Album.

I was wondering who else picked Sabotage. For me it was a 3 way tie between S/T, Paranoid, and Sabotage and I decided to go with the one that no one else would pick. I like everything from S/T to Sabotage and the two Dio albums (esp. Heaven and Hell). Ozzy's last two albums with the band and everything after Dio was pretty fucking shitty.

Sabotage is the one for me! You can't beat the songs and those riffs, Megalomania is incredible. But what the fuck do they look like on the cover photo!!??? Isn't Bill Ward wearing a pair of his wife’s tights? If I remember the story correct they got stitched up over the artwork they were supposed to be in costumes looking into the mirror in an eerie, scary castle
Close behind is Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Master of Reality, Vol 4, Paranoid and Black Sabbath. Though my guilty pleasure album is Never Say Die but apart from Gypsy it ain't worth bothering with Technical Ecstasy at all
Mob Rules is my fav Dio era.

For me it's a tough choice between the s/t and Master of Reality. Their first has some of my Sabbath favourites; Black Sabbath, Behind the Wall of Sleep, Evil Woman, The Wizard and Warning, so pretty much the whole album. But Master of Reality at times is just so fucking heavy such as Lord of This World and INTO THE FUCKING VOID. I'm gonna listen to both albums again and finally make up my mind.
Some of my other favourites are Supernaut, War Pigs, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and A National Acrobat.

I highly regard Paranoid as one of the greatest albums ever so it gets my vote.

Couldn't have said it better. It's a terrific album, but with Sabotage, Paranoid, and the self-titled album, how could you expect it to be anyone's favorite? It would be like asking why nobody's favorite Slayer album is South of Heaven.

Yeah, true I guess.
It's pretty much the album that inspired all the stoner/doom bands of today (i.e., Sleep, Eyehategod, etc.) though.
