Please excuse my total self-aggrandisement in this thread.
Many of you know I used to be involved in the wonderful sport of kickboxing. Its many applications kept me from being a fat cunt. However, without it, and with the gym sessions sliding further and further into obscurity, I am becoming...
...A FAT CUNT!
Today, I started to diet. New diet, new regime... It will be hard. Because of the way I have chosen to do it. Diets I can handle - easy. However I am basically living on oil and protein for the next 2 months. I aim to lose somewhere between 15-20lbs.
This means no cereal, no bread, no toast, no mayonnaise, no soft drinks, no fruit, no fruit juice, no tomato sauce, no cordial, no chocolate, no chips, no fries, no burgers, no sugar in my coffee, no noodles, no laksa... AND NO BEER. I am left with cheese, beef, ham, cream and chops if I want to eat whole food. But I won't be. I will largely be eating raw flax oil and protein powders.
To put it bluntly, it sucks. But I suck more than it does, so I deserve it. Please feel free to encourage me, or alternatively to call me a fat cunt. Which would be true right now.
If you don't care at all about this, don't fucking post here.

i'm eating fairly normally, maybe more(3 ham sandwiches for lunch, every day). i lift weights 3 times a week for an hour and a half, and occasionally(once a month?) i'll run 3km. oh ya, i'm 173lbs right now. 2 weeks ago i was 179lbs.

I must give credit where credit is due though, James. You really helped me with motivation and such, and it was actually your idea for me to cut out carbohydrates instead of calories, and on top of putting on a good amount of muscle, I'm also roughly 65 lbs. lighter than I was about a year ago. I'm 6'0" , 203 if anyone's wondering, and there are lots of people I should thank for helping me with that, and you're one of them...
Considering the way that I lost weight, if you stick to that diet really hardcore, you'll probably lose it in faster than two months, I know I would have, but I have weaknesses called hot wings, pizza, and beer

I need to lose weight too.. I'm a frickin' fat ass.. I'm about 6' and weigh probably 350 lbs.. I've tried alot of shit.. but it never seems to work.. I do really good for a few months I work out eat the right shit.. and nothing goes right so I get discouraged and stop.. another problem I have is I can't have any herbal anything.. My kidneys freak out. I get like a kidney stone every few months as it is.. I don't need to have any more.. Any ideas?

i'm still scrony, and i weigh 130lbs. i am badly
out of shape. i want to gain weight
and i've had some input by some body building friends
that eating protiens before bed is all you need to gain......

Eat lots of protein and keep working out, you'll put on some weight.
My buddy did that for 6 months and went from 130 pounds to 180 pounds in half a year.......mostly all muscle (with a little fat). Another guy i know probably put on 80 pounds in 8 months......his arms are fucking enormous now.

Hard question to answer. Your body may be in serious calorie-sparing mode, so I imagine the weight loss will dry up after a while.

The diet industry's advertising and marketing strategy is based on the creation and perpetuation of fear, biases, and stereotypes. Fat people are portrayed as unhealthy, unattractive, asexual, weak-willed, lazy, and gluttonous. Weight loss or a thin figure are equated with virtue, health, and success. Failure to participate in dieting or lack of success in losing weight are blamed on a lack of willpower or determination and a lack or moral values. Your maintenance calories are around 175 * 14 which is 2450Kcal per day.
You want to gain weight?
1) Eat 3000kCal a day
2) Space out your meals into 6, 500kCal per meal
3) Go to the gym NO MORE THAN THREE times a week
4) Learn how to do a real workout and not sissy pansy shit
5) Avoid unnecessary aerobic exercise
6) Make sure there's at least 175g of protein in those calories
Anyway, ham is shitty meat. I only eat it because it's good raw, and my diet right now is very, very restrictive. Eat steak, chicken, fish, all the 'pure' meats. If you can get duck, pidgeon, crocodile, pheasant or quail, they're all excellent meats. And no I'm not joking.

i just had a terioque dinner(sp?)
it contained 20g of protein, 2.5g of saturated fat
and 75g of carbohydrates
it was good.
pop tarts have 3g of protein.
which is my nightly snack before bed,
along with some doritos, and a cerry coke.
i eat a lot of junk, but i work out a little every day
the past week or so.
i lost 5lbs this week.

1) wouldnt more smaller meals help lose weight, whereas a few big meals help gain?
2) quail eggs. i heard each one is the equivilant in nutrients to a normal chicken egg, despite the fact they are tiny. is this true? if it is, it may help you.
3)meat. lean or fatty?

If you want to gain weight, you should eat about 1 gram of protein for every pound that you weight each day.
Good sources of protein are: milk, meats, nuts (peanuts, almonds...whatever), protein bars.
A 2L carton of skim milk has about 70-72 grams of protein.....drink 2L of milk each day and you just gotta get the extra 100 grams elsewhere.

1) No. Regular feedings keep your muscles continually supplied. Unless you're trying to grow your gut, split your meals.

alright, heres my routine. well, as much as i can remember of it. also, some i dont know the names to.
for most, i do 3 sets, first one with 12 reps, 2nd with 8, 3rd with 6.
and the weights are in pounds
i'm 172lbs(75kg), 5"8.6'(175.5cm)
warmup: 5 minutes on bike
pull downs (i think, they're like chin ups, but sitting down): 160,170,180
calf raises: 225, 240, 255
pec-deck: 72, 75, 77( i think)
tricep pull downs: 160, 170, 180
horizontal bench press: 170 x15, 180 x12, 190 x10
tricep pull ups( not too sure if thats the name): 15 x20, 20 x15, 25 x10
straight arm lifts( wrong name, but it best describes it): 12 x 15, 15 x 10, 20 x 8
chest press(weight is for each hand): 60, 65, 70
thats basically it. should i modify it? is it too "wimpy"?

Typically they'd mean a single lift, not 3. Anyone who has their bench press numbers available on quote is a wanker anyway. It's not a very good lift for combat training or conditioning.
And there is no single "respectable" weight. Anyway, weight is a shit measurement of strength. The other day I saw a guy use 4 times as much weight as me squatting. Guess who was bigger? Me. So, why so much weight? Because he was a clueless clot and doing short sets of half-repetitions to prove he was a big man. Another faggot power-rack hero. If you use too much weight, you're either stupid or egotistical, take your pick.

I couldn't bench my own weight to save my life. My arms are the unfortunate length of 6'9 while I'm only a barely-tall 6'1. This makes using them as upright levers especially hard, because it's impossible for my arms to stabilise the weight. Am I "not too respectable" now? You talk about respect like it's something you get from OTHER PEOPLE. Fuck other people. Lift your own weight and let respect go fuck itself.

What do you weigh? Around 170 isn't it? Have you tried benching that, because it's really not that hard to...
I'm not saying it to try to put you down or anything, and I'm sure you know that, but after I got used to it, bench presses were rather easy.

Squats are, to be simple for you, when you have the bar on your back and bend your knees, yes. Though you have to be a little more careful than that, or you'll end up injured/cunt. Oh yeah, and, in addition, shut the fuck up.

About 185. If I worked at it, I'm sure I could put up 185... but the bench press blows. Added to that, I'd probably get tendonitis from overloading my elbow joints - the arms thing is a pain in the ass at times.

i think wally's right. whenever i stop working out for a while, then come back. i have to start at a lower weight and get used to the movements. if you tried benching the bar and just the bar and see how much you can do. it becomes a stamina exercice and it'll help you get used to it.

my routine:
50 outside curls (15lbs)
50 chest bench presses (40lbs)
50 inside curls (15lbs)
50 of that bar that you pull doun(whatever you call that) (15lbs)
and last time i did a horizontal bench, i pressed 125lbs.
and i only weigh about 135-140, i gained some weight...

Whoa, what a busy thread! Who would have thought that so many metal phucks would be interested in Health and Fitness? I don't even bother trying to lift anymore, I just feel too ridiculous. I think it's better to get exercise doing things I actually enjoy (rock-climbing, swimming, surfing, motorcross). This way I don't feel like such a human gerbil.
And when it comes to losing weight, my regime is simple: Lots of caffine or guarana. Big run. Lots of small meals afterwards. Maybe this is fuct, but it seems to work for me.

hey sane im not sure if you guys have a supplement down there called "XP2G". but if you do i highly recomend it. its a thermo. supplement and damn good. that and wey factor are the only 2 things i take now. ive dropped about 10 lbs. so far, and my over strength is still increasing. im on a diet thats not as highly complex of yours. it basicly consists of 6 meals a day spred out 2-3 hours in between. for my weight (170) i need to take in about 35 grams a protien with each one, and about 25 carbs. but no carbs after my 5:30 workout. usually i try to take around 45 grams of protien with each though in case im ever somewhere where i cant get a sufficiant ammout i wont go into a protien depleation. but anyway i hope like hell your sticking with if dude. after all you were the one motivating me all those posts ago back at atmetal!
