The lost cosmonauts

This is pretty freaky. Maybe many of you know about this? Basically, in the space race, the Soviet Union sent out a few manned missions before Gagarin (recognised as first man in space), and they failed. Not much is known about them, but there is sound evidence (downloadable) of a mans final breaths and dying heartbeat, and he was already unconscious. This same thing happened to Ilyushin (few days before Gagarin), but he was reentered into the earths atmosphere and landed in China, suffering serious injuries (as he could not eject himself, being unconscious). He lived and there was secrecy and whatnot about his flight so he is not recognised as the first, although he probably was.

On the site is also an article about the first woman in space, who perished. No one knows about her either, except two brothers in Italy who set up a listening station and recorded her last transmissions (same guys who captured the heartbeat and breaths). Her last transmissions are available in translated text two.

Also, due to this secrecy, photos are available, with "before and afters", as people were erased off the records.

There were probably more who perished, there are names and more info, so check it out.

For those who can't navigate:
First man in orbit
First woman in orbit

A bloody good read, and not such a big one. Gotta have realplayer to hear the sound files. Enjoy.

'Phantom' cosmonauts - more info on it

'Lost' cosmonauts on wikipedia, good read.

I've never given any thought to this, but I'm not suprised. In my parents' days, everything seemed to have been done phyisically by trial and error.

On first glance, this seems to sit with one leg firmly each side of my bullshit detector's boundary fence... could be an interesting historical quirk... could be conspiracy lunacy.

I'll get to reading.

I launched a few incests in to low orbit on my self designed rockets during the 80's. Sure most test crashed and burned within minutes, but I was young and had unlimited access to hardware. Sacrifice was expected. The incests died noble. I will never forget them

Look for a websites containing my work.

I can smell the bullshit too. The sound-clips dont convince me for starters. Most of all, im skeptical of the chances that these two italian lads really did construct a device that could have done that. To me, seems like tracking an orbit (yes, Its doable), listening in with a functional device, at the certain time these people are dying. I also would assume there would a larger presence of ambient noise, and distortion in the recording.

I don't think so. Also, here are some picures of the italian adlays: http://www.lostcosmonauts.com/pics.htm

and more pics/info: http://www.lostcosmonauts.com/archive.htm

This was only 46 years ago. They would have had their equipment on all the time I think. The array of satellites shown would have covered a great deal of the sky where the first flights of orbit would have been conducted (close to the equator for greatest initial velocity from rotation of Earth) and the radio waves would be bouncing around the earth and ionosphere, as they do, so I think they would have covered quite an expanse of sky. There is quite a lot of background static on the "first woman in space". I can understand some Russian and even with the voice transcript I can hardly make out anything. I don't think they could pull off a hoax this big (the theorists i.e.), just to make shit up. The lostcosmonauts site is referred to on many wiki pages and such, and i'm sure there would be articles calling the extreme bulshit around, etc.

...Yes.

Soulinsane... you're joking yeah? You somehow launched rockets 280 km into the air?
Yeah, you're kidding.

I didn't have NASA monitoring my projects so I can't be sure but my designs did fly any long way. The best I could hope for was the next state. By shit went far out of my sight, but I could still hear them going. At the time, I believed they made it to orbit. Later I calculated that they must have crashed. They would have never breached the atmosphere without oxygen and the designs were very fuel limited.

Edit: I was only 10 years old when I launched them, so yes, its a joke.
