Nile

What do you think is the best Nile song? I am going to download one so I can see whether I like them or not before I spend the money on a CD.

Lashed to the Slave Stick is definitely the best to me, it ranks as one of my favorite death metal songs.

Of course, I haven't listened to any of the older albums extensively... I've been meaning to.

All the ones mentioned here. BSOV and ITDS are their best albums, AOTW was cool but just more of the same, they really need to innovate their sound and do something new or they'll just be really boring and monotonous.

Amongst the Catacombs kicks ass too, unfortunately the production turns many people off.

I'm going to say:

Wind of Horus, Kheftiu asar butchiu, Ramses bringer of, multitude of foes and lashed to the slave stick.

Also, depending on what you're into, Sarcophagus might be a good song to start with, as it's simple easy listening as far as Nile's concerned. I'm not a fan of that song though.

You tube, Myspace, whatever there's plenty to go on just from those. Also just buying their albums is a pretty decent idea in itself.

Not saying it's bad but i'm surprised 'Lashed to the Slave Stick' is so many people's favourite seeing as it's not as br00tal as many of their others.

Lashed to the Slave Stick is not as br00tal?

It has slow parts, but the song just seems to fit together so well.... and I don't notice a different trend compared to other songs on the album

I think anything from Nile is more br00tal than most

I'd have to disagree - Execration Text, Invocation to Seditious Heresy and Chapter For Transforming Into a Snake are probably their three most intense songs.

Word, those 3 and Cast Down the Heretic, Masturbating the War God, The Blessed Dead and The Burning Pits of Duat. In fact that's like their "pop" song, it doesn't sound nearly as massive as the rest of their song.

Most of their other songs are way more brutal than Lashed, that one was just a mid-paced song, I'm surprised they haven't made it into a video because it's way catchier and more listener friendly than any of their other songs.
