it is, but that doesnt mean its not the best thing they recorded. id take three listens of despise over one full listen of effigy
anyways my vote is for despise! i see you dont have human waste up there either

From what's up there, I voted for 'Pierced From Within.'
And yes, Smith < Culross < Bohn.

LIES. Bohn rules.
"Pierced..." it is. The first four songs are the arguably best they ever wrote and it's pretty much the only album where they didn't botch the production.

oh its botched. steve described it as the guitar tone sounding like "someone banging on a chain link fence"
that is the most apt description EVER

The guitar tone does rule. It also the first Suffocation album where you can clearly hear every riff being played. Effigy and BtS can't claim that.
I also enjoy the bass so far up in the mix so I can always hear it. My favorite songs are on Breeding the Spawn, by the way.

Effigy of the Forgotten for me, too. To think that nothing - nothing - sounded like it at the time blows me away. One of the most brutal albums ever committed to record.

Yeah, that may be. But so fucking what? The guitars on Pierced are probably the best riffs metal has ever created.

Pierced From Within anytime!
The most heaviest, most deranged and fucking SLAM-A-LICIOUS album from them.

pierced, coz songs are more labyrinthine and doug and terrence are fucken awesome (as always, but particularly so in this case), sharp and aggressive, not just sewer trawling sludge.
