The situation of your Parents

I don't want this to turn into a big cryfest. I'm just curious as it is said that 50% of marriages do not last.(well in Canada, America)

It would be interesting to see if this number is accurate, and/or if even if the lack of a stable family influences musical preference.

My parents are as realistically peerfect in their marriage situation. They got married (both for the first time) when they were like 23, and have been together for 20 years. I have never heard them get in a fight with each other. I'm a lucky dude.

I forgot my mom is getting re-married to some ex-military guy. She's only been dating him for a handful of months. Oh well, best of luck to her.

Maybe he could buy me beer for doing my mom.

I won't go into my entire parents story hah. maybe some other tim than before i'm going to bed. But my parents have been married for like 24 years i think.. and all i do is hear them fucking bitch. By fucking god, i hate going home. Thats their relationship and thats how it is... pah.. It just gets old when the average volume in your entire family is basically yelling.

I am above all that now. My sister 2 years older than me definately isn't though.

divorced after 27 years in '02, they both couldn't be happier.

And as the joke goes:

What are the three for of marital sex?

1. House sex, having sex anywhere in the house.
2. Bedroom sex, after things cool down in the relationship, it stays more to the bedroom
and lastly...

3. Hall sex, passing each other pretty much anywhere in the house with a middle finger, "fuck you!!!"

I AM A BASTARD AND PROOOUD.

My parents split before I was born I think, or just after. I never knew my parents to live together. 1 is remarried, the other isn't. Its funny how the data is perfect...

My parents were married for about 45 years before my dad died. My grandparents on one side that I grew up close to were married for 52 years. Then my grandma remarried a family friend and he died about 8 years later. I was adopted as a 3 day old so I think that makes a difference than someone older that might have been. I don't remember anyone fighting at either house unless I was in the middle of it being a hateful teenager.
Current hubby and I were married for 11 years and then divorced, got back together after his divorce and we;ve been together about 7 years. We just celebrated our second anniversary. It would be about 27 if we hadn't this December. I had a b/f after we split up, but I didn't date anyone.

I think your poll questions are bullshit because you don't take into account de facto/common law marriages. Some people just don't see the point in tying the knot legally because it costs a lot of money (and some, like me, have moral objections).

My parents have been married for nearly 20 years. They got married a year after they met, and I was already in the oven for 5 months (a wanted child mum pressured out of dad). They're somewhat happy I think, they have their clashes though. Dad held mum back a lot, and I think mum would have done a lot more academically, career-wise and travel-wise if not for me being born and dad's desire to keep her at home.

My parents are divorced. Didn't bother me, but my dad keeps acting like I've been traumatized and is trying to bond with me.

I really hate, though, when I get in the middle of their little pussy problems.

It sounds like dad's the one who was traumatized and has a bit of guilt there. Unless he's just trying to blame your mom for something and playing it up. He might just be overly concerned though. I know how that goes.

I was going to mention that, but that didn't have to do with the initial question..

We're not talking about Oprah and Stedman.

hmm.. I kinda hate when people ask if your parents are married, and if they don't, they must be divorced or something..

well, that mostly happends here. you may think holland is such a progresive country, but it's realy conservative with family values and all..

me, my parents broke up even before they knew my mother was pregnant.. so..

I know what it is. It's that blonde bimbo he goes out with now. She's a nice lady and all, but.... ok. she's like Marie from "Everybody Loves Raymond." Always picky, always prodding to get answer that aren't there. My dad was never this sensitive, obsessive, PUSSY until he moved in with this woman. I don't mind him going out with someone besides my mom (kinda the reason they got divorced, fi ya catch my drift) but dude, a woman has a head above that rack, a head that practically begs to be ripped off because it won't shut up sometimes.

..... maybe I do have some unresolved anger issues.

Sounds like a metaphor for something else. But it's none of my business, so I'll shut up for now.

The poll is getting some interesting results....I wonder how it would compare to other genres of music or music in general?

Sounds like a metaphor for something else. But it's none of my business, so I'll shut up for now.

Nah, apparently thats what really happened. Now I've herad that "shooting the moon" means jerking off, but he wouldn't do that.

I was adopted. Did I elude that I wasn't? If I did, I'm sorry. I was so young I don't know as that made a difference in my parental upbringing. It did make a difference in other things in my head though.

Did you evade that you weren't? I don't believe you did. I don't know how you could, to be honest.

This poll treats adoption as being more or less a whole separate issue, unrelated to what it's interested in, so your boring paragraphs on your parents were, in fact, alluding that you're not adopted, and, for that reason, you could've saved us the trouble and posted nothing.

Parents split up when I was 5, got back together when I was 6, and they've been together since. I'm getting along with them a LOT better now than when I was living at home. My dad has become a Rocktron/Line 6 dealer so I'm a kid in a candy store whenever I visit him.

Bitch bitch bitch, whine bitch bitch. lol, somethings never change.

I realize the adoption doesn't really matter in the poll..however, I wanted to make them welcome..rather than say "IM ADOPTED I CANT VOTE LOL"

I know a few adopted people and they are all heavy into music.

Probably would have been best not to single them out at all. If they were adopted by a married couple, the can contribute to the poll in the same way as anyone else.

Whining and bitching is what you lot do when I'm being a big meany and you need to have a good written cry about it. I tend to criticize harshly in a way that provokes whining. Maybe if you could hear my tone of voice you'd know the difference. In any case, whining implies a mental state I'm never in.

You mean he shot at the moon while your mom was in space on the moon? Your mom was really an astronaut? Your parents are really cool *says it without hint of sarcasm this time*

shooting the moon as i know it is when you are playing hearts and you wind up with all the cards. instead of getting all the points, you "shoot the moon" and everyone else gets all the points (each person gets the total amount, its not divided up)

if you've never played the game..getting points is bad.

My parents divorced when I was about 3. Then my mother remarried when I was about 4 and now she's getting ready to divorce that guy too.
