The person who decided to get me high for the first time in my life suggested I smoke a lot to get the best first hit ("or else it just won't be good"), so all up I had 6 and a half to seven cones (not cut with tobaco). I love practicing when high. Have'nt done it in a while, but it definitely gives learning guitar a different slant.

I've been on drinking binges and pot binges, and for myself, I'd much rather choose marijuana than alchohol as a drug to abuse. If I were drunk all of the time I'd NEVER get anything done. The reason I'm mentioning alchohol is because that's one drug that we can all reference to, we've all been shitfaced at some point in our life.

Marijuana is the one drug I've done that I can't report any bad experiences from having done, all of my experiences have been positive, and once you get used to moving around/doing things while high instead of eating a ton of food and going to sleep, it can enhance your productivity. But simultaneously, I know that I would'nt be able to stand being stoned all of the time ( like months on end, we all know at least one person who is like that ). Sobriety is what makes a psychoactive drug special, in my opinion.

I've always hated smoking socially ( the whole 'pass the bong' thing ) because then I don't feel all that productive. Once I get some hits in me I have to go play guitar or read or do something.

And I think that some of the arguing going on here is moot ... different drugs affect people in different ways. One person I can think of reported psilocybin mushrooms as being an incredible eye-opening experience that forced her to view the way she treats people in a way that she was'nt aware of ( positive ), another person I know went to look for a bridge to jump off of and he's never touching that stuff again ( very negative ).

There are points of view and things that I'll learn only when high. And of course, things I'll only learn when sober. So to become a more well-rounded person I'll smoke some marijuana every now and then. So for me its a good thing. And it irks me that I can try to explain this to some extremely staunch anti-drug idealists up and down, and they'll never get it. I was one at one point, actually.

depend what you mean by "change", thier<the people i was refering to> behavior isnt much different from being sober as far as the effects of the drug. it effects the mind of course,they get high and stuff, but not to the point of being inebriated in which you would notice a serious change in how they act.

some people are hooked in a psychological way<dependency> tho and i should of mentioned it. a bandmate of mine gets all stressed and stuff if he doesnt get resupplied on time. i always know when the dealer is late and so forth...this is a problem, granted a minor one that isnt a big deal.

so i do notice a "change" when he cant get any and gets a little pissed about it. this has more to do with a dependency on the weed rather than its psychological effects. so i agree to a certain extent there is a change.

its really nothing compared to cigarette addiction, without even getting into booze or narcotics. if i havent had a cigarette in a while, everyone will know about it, ill be in an even more agitated mood than my bandmate.

i live in a college town (austin, tx). there are a lot of amazingly intelligent potheads here, and i love it. same goes for portland, oregon and seattle.

as far as smoking goes, i have cut back 10 fold in the past year or so. i used to be stoned 24/7, but i could still function. now, i dont have a job so weed is more of a luxury item for me now, but i'll always smoke when offered. i mostly smoke with my sister now.

last night was the first time i smoked in a week. the nice thing about pot is you never really get cravings for it......just the feeling that "i could totally go for a blunt right now" as opposed to "i desperatley NEED a fuckin hit."

whoever said that people who smoke a lot, you can't really tell a difference in them is 100% correct. pot doesnt make me geek unless i'm smoking really dank bud outa a huge bong. i use it more to stimulate my mind and to appreciate music.

that being said i think the more important question is " what kinds of buds are available where youre from?" the most common stuff where i live (south florida) is referred to as "crippy". it genrally runs from 350-400 bucks an O, and has a great flavor/ appearance. as far as potency it ranks right up there ( its no BC hydro or anything, buts its pretty close). we also see "purple haze" fairly frequently. this shit is almost black in color and smells very strongly (almost like amonia), and the potency ranks with anything ive had.

Well it depends for me somtimes i will go for a week straight a gram a day of some bomb cali chron or other times just 2 weekends in a month but yeah only chronic for me and the homies lol since we all throw down money on a sack before band practice and have a fat hook up its cool. My fav thing to smoke out of are blunts since there so tasty and everyone gets greens if not that then a nice bong or bubbler. As far as naming buds I find it stupid since no strain ever grows the same way.

actually every college i've ever been to has lots of smokers. i honestly don't think the majority smoke, but a large chunk of them certainly do. i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure steve/basstendencies has been a to a few schools ..possibly in 2 different states? i've only attended one college, but i have visited many to see friends, or go on a tour of the campus, or a few other random events.

actually i gotta disagree with you on that one. many people have set ups that involve making clones from a mother plant in a seperate room kept under different conditions. they get a clone and start its roots and off goes another plant with identical dna. these same people USUALLY have another room with specific conditions that are kept the same and easy for them to regulate.

in other words...a plant with the same dna grows up in identical conditions. i'm not saying they will be exactly the same down to the number of hairs or whatever..but you wouldn't notice a difference in your high.

Oil is easy and all you need is a small blob on the end of a needle, and just burn that on a car lighter or something - suck it up with a tube and your fucked!

I've always been amazed at how much people hype up weed, just because you get it rammed into your brain your whole life at school. And movies and shit lead you to believe its better than real life too. Like someone smokes pot and they are floating around, and the dogs talking ect ect.
I really think it should be classified with alcohol. It is much less harmful on your body than alcohol - and it doesnt change your personality as much while you are using it. To quote Bill Hicks "Alcohol and tobacco are two drugs that kill more people anually than ALL illegal drugs, combined, times 1000."
