Homework Help
hey i gotta write a long report on how to play keyboards for a metal band and how the keys can associate into metal music....
well, if started with rock bands like kiss and such, even though they dont have a keys player keys, they have some keys added every so often. i figure than i will move into early iced earth, then talk about playing a sampler and go into soloing, dimmu borgir, etc. maybe ill even metion Rudess or Pinnela.
any help on stuff to add?
anyone know an actual definition for Synth? i defined it as a soft, continuos sound.
through all this i have to keep my main point on how to play though......

Dude, aint this sorta a subject your passionate about? If it is, the words should just flow on out of you. Also, include Dream Theatre, they're alright on the keyboards.

Jordan Rudess is their keys player. what are some other good bands that really exemplify good keys?
so far i got:
Theatre of Tragedy
Iced Earth (showing how a band with no keys player can use keys)
dream theater
dimmu
although that may be good enough......

I'd say hes fairly the best, as on their DVd, he doubles up with petrucci on the Fatal tragedy solo, and other solos.
Its hard enough to play Petruccis solos on guitar let alone transpose (i love that word) them to another instrument.
Mention Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beathoven(spelling?)

ive never listened to children of bodom or burzum. id do best if i listened to the bands....
ill also have to mention synthesizers
