What .mp3 player/media player do you use?
Okay, so I recently discovered when transcribing something that alot of media players like Winamp, etc. actually 'color' the sound of your media files as opposed to when you load them in Sound Recorder/Cool Edit Pro/Transcribe/whatever. I'm specifically talking about Winamp, and I don't use any plugins with it. This kinda ticked me off. What media players do you people use? And does anyone know a good media player/.mp3 player that does NOT mess with the sound of the files?

I use Winamp without EQ and it doesn't color my sound at all. EQ'ing the Media Player is for pussies.

The latest Windows Media Player for sound, and Media Player Classic for video and obscurely encoded sound. The latter comes packed with aboslutely tons of codecs, so it can play practically anything.

Yeah I don't own one either... I was talking about mp3 players on the computer.
Hell yeah Blizzard Beast, I use Media Player Classic for all my video as well. That thing is LOADED with codecs and takes up zero system resources.
Slabbefusk, maybe it's me, but I noticed a HUGE decrease in sound quality after playing an MP3 in Transcribe and then on Winamp a few seconds later. I tried looking for something to 'restore' the loss but apparently nothing exists. |

i always use winamp for music, i ALMOST always eq music slightly.
for videofiles, bsplayer and vlc media
if a file doesnt run on vls media player then nothing can play it, this program plays everything.. ok almost everything xept for some realy crazy files that NOONe willEVER use lol

I use winamp.
I use EQ on everything, because some dumbshit audio technicians didn't have my settings in mind! I don't do EXTREME stuff but then again its a nice change.
Also if you DON"T know this, unless you're using quality studio MONITORS your SPEAKERS color the sound too. So i would stop crying about the sound, its for ear quality sakes. When your listening to Winamp your not editing music. Any coloring thats done by a program or hardware device is purely for the listener. If you're crying cause it sounds too good.... then i'm not gonna touch that with a 50 foot pole.

I use Winamp and Windows Media Player. Oh, and also my mp3 player (Creative Jukebox 40 GB, i think thats the name of it)
