My high school graduation ceremony was at one of the buildings on Belmont's campus and I am really familiar with that area. The school is pretty nice but uhh.....pricey, but I'm sure you have figured that out by now. If you are living on campus then you will be 5 minutes away from tower records which is the one place in nashville that has a pretty good selection of evil metal considering that this is the bible belt. And although most of the bars downtown are....country based, there are guitar stores everywhere. And i would have to agree with you about being around country lovers instead of wiggers. One thing to look foraward to is Decapitated coming to town on Oct. 16, can't miss that.

wiggers....... these kind of people slowly disappear as you get older. in my nieghborhood the suburban white homeboy types dont exist. you do have white people into hip-hop and stuff, but the whole ghetto thug attitude,gang member wannabe mentality isnt there.
they cant keep that act up for long, otherwise you have a 30 year old white guy in fubu wear looking like a 30 year old white guy,fucking ned flanders representing "HAWD THUG"
on the other hand i know dudes in thier 40s still rocking napalm and venom tees, play in bands etc. shit never gets old

That reminds me. There is quite a large amount of diversity in nashville compared to other southern cities. And we have real black people who are in real gangs. There has also been a recent influx of huge amounts of hispanics and Kurdish people. So if you feel the urge to scream a racial slur for some reason, make sure to look both ways.

Memphis is bad... HIGH crime rate. Most of that city is pretty fucking trashy and run down. I usually goto Memphis to catch good shows as well as Memphis in May and any sudden gambling urges since Tunica is just 20 mins away from it.

tennessee itself didnt seem that bad,memphis was sketchy but ive seen way worse. nashville seems nice, lots of musicians and local music,just that its not music that im not into. it all looks suburban, clean.
id never,ever live there but that doesnt mean it sucks
