Hey I was wondering if there are any artists out there. Im wanting a tattoo of a treble clef sign. But i want it gothic/pointy looking. No color please just solid black, like it is on sheet music! Im willing to pay money for a truely nicely done piece, i need to see it first though before i pay! I'm honest if i use your work i will pay you. Im getting it when i turn 18 which is about a year away im just really looking out for the exact piece that i want, its a perminate thing so i need to make sure i really love it.

Playing guitar doesn't justify the treble cleff. You put a lot of time into playing the guitar? And for that reason you want something that's not specifically associated with guitars on your arm? Good thinking.

On the other hand, getting a tattoo just means getting something you'll be able to like and live with, forever, permanently inscribed into your flesh, and if this is something you think does that, then you don't need a bullshit justification. Anyway, one place I've seen some pretty good-looking treble cleffs is on every piece of sheet music I've ever had. Do you want it to look significantly different from that? Really?

Eh, the age thing is fuzzy. Some people are responsible at a young age, some people never are, and there are any number of intermediary cases. Illinois had until recently a tattoo age of 21, but at the moment I'm living proof that that's no longer the case. But not everyone knows what they want and should really think about the fact that tats can't be undone before getting one. That's the one thing getting one taught me.

They actually can be undone these days. But it takes a long time, is a pain in the ass, and probably isn't too pleasant of an experience, either. Plus, I'm sure it's pretty expensive, as the technology is pretty new.

You could, of course, go the traditional route and just cut it out and get a skin graft. I don't know how smart that is, though.

Every laser-removed tat I've seen just has a scar in the shape of the tat there. Not what I consider much better; the scar tissue's uglier if less noticeable than the regular ink.

But there might be some removal techniques about which I know nothing.

To be honest, a conspicuous tattoo that very few people understand gets pretty annoying. Explain your tattoo a few dozen times and find out. And, if it doesn't need to make any connection whatsoever with the understanding of other people, there's no need to put it on your skin.

my bandmate wants a russian jail tattoo. its one of those "i got fucked over by some chick, ill never forgive that bitch"kind. im not really into changing someones mind about this sort of thing but i think its not a good idea.

those tattoos are taken very seriously by some russian folks who live here in the US. he really doesnt have a strong reason to get it, i figure most dudes in jail who got that shit where put there in part by some woman they were involved with. i dont even think he knows that those tattoos are actually done blue as the ink in gulags for the time<under communism>was made with melted shoe soles and mixed with piss.

i dont think a treble clef is a bad idea, youre best off having a friend design it rather than having us draw something up.

In a lot of jails having white pride tattoos isn't a bad thing. You've either got a white pride organization there to back you up, or it's the case, as in Jim Goad's Shit Magnet, that the blacks there assume that every white dude hates them and have the most respect for white guys who are openly racist, and will do nothing worse to you than play poker.
