Natural Ice is a pretty standard 30-rack ice beer, 'ice' meaning it's ice-filtered, or something, which raises the alcoholic content slightly. On the other hand, it's a terrible beer.
Had Dead Guy Ale last night. Pretty good, though the star of the night was, of course, Belgian. And I defy anyone to drink a Belgian beer and tell me it tastes like piss a day after turning 21 and not drinking.

There's a barber shop in Portland, OR that'll serve you PBR as you get your hair cut. There are still some places that have $1 pints of PBR, though in Chicago you have to go with Old Style. It doesn't seem to exist outside of the heart attack-strip of the Midwest, but while you're there you should definitely drink some.

Oregon is not unusually hot; it's much cooler (temp-wise) than most of the states I've lived in. And it's definitely not the coolest state. One of the coolest geographically, sure, but the yupped-out people ruin it for me.
Black Butte is pretty cool, though. Didn't know there was a beer named after it.

The best beer I have ever had is from Indiana. Three Floyds Dark Lord Imperal Stout. It was 13% alcohol and very dark. But Black Butte Porter is a world class porter. Look up reviews on it, it gets like 92-95 every time. |

you guys ever notice after playing a live set, i mean playing one of those 120 degree,lose ten pounds in sweat,adrenaline overdrive kickass sort of shows. you drink your first beer of the night immediately after the set, it could be any kind of beer just as long as its real cold, and its like the best god damn beer you ever had. its like the adrenaline and anxiety is still there to amplify your rehydration, your brain is cloudy after the intense focus of playing and its like sweet ambrosia, something cold bottled water cant really do
this has only happened a few times, usually the free beer from the venue arrives mid set and you dont have time to get to it, sometimes im not even aware its there till after. the show has to be without doubt a good preformance too, a real barn burner.
so thats the best beer i ever had, it could of been a bud light or a miller low life for all i know

You don't have to care about the reviews, it's just a stamp of approval if you will. People who review and brew beer for a living generally have a much broader mental capacity regarding fermented malt beverages than your average consumer.
I guess I should just be thankful I don't buy Icehouse anymore thinking it's a good beer. |

I've never met anybody who thought Icehouse was a good beer. It's just stronger than average and comes in 30-racks - and beer that comes in 30-racks is never particularly good. But it does the job, which is sometimes much more important.
