A little computer help... DC++
So im trying to set up dc++ and at the moment im set up on passive, and I want to be active.
I have been told that it is possible with this modem.
http://portforward.com/english/rout...L-302G/DC++.htm
I have looked at that walkthrough but cant figure it out. I have set up a static IP address, but I'm still not sure what to put in settings when it comes to ports, or what to change the modem settings to.
I do just as the walkthrough says, but it makes no difference. I have been trying to use port 12000 for TCP and UDP, I'm not sure if there is certain ones i should be using or not.
I have added the NAT rules the site has told me to but it doesnt make a difference.
So if anyone knows their shit about DC++ or forwarding ports ect... Please help
Cheers

Hate to say it, but fuck you wasted your time.
I predict no-one knowing what the fuck you're talking about.
You should seek a computer forum or repairman.

Well i didnt predict everyone to be of help. But i know there are users here who know their shit, and this being a site very based upon music... Well DC++ isnt too far off course is it.
I've asked at some other forums but figured why the hell not ask here, never know who knows something.

If you can connect via passive mode, why mess with active mode? I've forwarded ports before and such, but never had problems connecting to hubs in DC++ and I'm using a NAT enabled router. So are you having a problem connecting at all?

I've got it going now, so this thread and be disposed of
But yeah, it was working in passive but that means really shit allowences, only 5 items per user in search, no downloading from other passive users - and all the large sharing users are passive in the hubs I use.
But i got it going, what a fucking mission...
