Dreamband
How would the ultimate band look?
Guess this belongs in the band section.
My dreamband would be:
Guitars/"growling": Alexi Laiho (Sinergy, CoB)
Guitars: Jani Liimatainen (Sonata Arctica)
Bass/clean vox: Marco Hietala (Nightwish)
Drums: Asgeir Mickelson (Borknagar)
Keyboards: Pasi Hiltula (Kalmah)
The style would be a sort of melodic death metal, with a touch of black. Like a mix of Arch Enemy, CoB and Kalmah.
Please DO NOT start bitching here, OK? I'm tired of threads being closed all the time because some idiots spends too much time attacking other people's opinions instead of having their own. Respect the Forum Daemons and be nice. Thanx on beforehand. And, stay on topic, please.

I think that's the first time i've ever seen any non-mod write that.
Just for that, you are now on my awesome list.
Now, keeping things topical......i'd say Immolation.....but if you really want me to think about this, here goes:
Lead Singer: Ross Dolan
Backup vocals:Luc Lemay
Rhythm Guitar: Jack Owen
Lead Guitar: Trey Azagtoth (i don't care how to spell his name)
Bass: Alex Webster (i'm not a bassist fan, so i'm just putting him here cause he's good)
Drums: Flo
Of course this would be a brutal death metal band. It would rule too. They'd be called "The Memnochs" or something cool like that.

normal band:
voc: the metal god (halford)
axe 1: jeff waters (annihilator)
axe 2: joe satriani
bass: steve digorgio (death)
drums: gene hoglan (death)
band from hell:
voc: frank mullen (suffocation)
axe 1: chuck schuldiner (death)
axe 2: erik rutan (hate eternal)
bass: alex webster (cannibal corpse)
drums: dave culross (many great deathmetal bands)
mmm i don't know, maybe Chuck is too soft to be in the band, anyway the Chuck of the "Human" era then. Oh well, don't underestimate his asskickin abilities.
If Chuck can't fulfill the evilness of his task, replace him with Phil Fasciana, one of the most underestimated deathmetal guitarheroes ever, but one of the best. Just don't tell anyone. It's our little secret.
Dave Culross can't be beaten at deathmetal, best blasts in the business.

Actually, I would kick out Liimatainen, because he doesn't fit in, and replace him with Jon from Dissection. He would also take care of the vocals. If the sucker just got out of jail.

Vocals 1 - Maniac (Mayhem)
Vocals 2 - Chris Barnes (ex CC)
Vocals 3 - Mikael Akerfelt or Simean Haestnaes (sp?)
Drums 1 - Hellhammer
Drums 2 - Fenriz, circa Goatlord era
Guitars - Marty Friedman (with his lovely 80's bubble perm)
Bass 1 - Steve DiGiorgio
Bass 2 - Nah, just the one
Haven't got a clue what they'd play, so I'll stop there. I just like the image of Marty Friedman on stage with Fenriz and Maniac. Maybe they'd make a half decent jazz combo.....

Now that the ancient thread's back, fuck it, I'll add my two shits
Vocalist #1: Billy Milano - S.O.D./M.O.D.
Vocalist #2: David Vincent - Morbid Angel
Guitar #1: Brad Hull - Forced Entry
Guitar #2: Chuck Shuldiner - Death
Bass: Les Claypool
Drums: Louie Clement - Testament
EDIT: What they would do is switch back and forth between hardcore/thrash and death metal. The two singers would get up in each other's face and throw insults back and forth on stage. It would be like one of those rapper battles.

Why the hell is shit always given for resurrecting old threads, and also for starting new threads when the use of the 'search' button would show there was an existing thread on the subject? You can only have it one way, and since the classic documentary Posting and You (available for viewing in the Chit Chat Forum Rules sticky, go watch if you haven't, and learn) teaches us that 'It is always better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one,' the Resurrection was the appropriate choice.

vocals - screaming: varg vikernes (burzum)
vocals - growling: tony forde (blood duster, the kill) on the grounds that he would make a massively entertaining show
guitars: tim aldrige (abramelin)
guitars: muhammed suicmez (necrophagist)
bass: alex webster (cannibal corpse), who else?
drums: toss up between vitek (decapitated), and max kolesne (krisiun).
should keyboards be required at anytime, martin foul (cradle of filth) would handle those.

Lots of thought has gone into this.
Vocals / guitars - Jason Mendonca (Salem Orchid, Akercocke)
Lead guitars - Muhammed Suicmez (Necrophagist)
Bass - Jon Vesano (Nile)
Drums - Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy)
Alternatively...
Vocals / Bass - Lemmy Kilminster (Motorhead)
Lead Guitar - Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath)
Drums - Neil Peart (Rush)
That would be a kind of progressive old heavy metal band.

drums - Hellhammer (Mayhem)
