Question Track Removal?

Is there such software for removing instrument tracks from MP3's? Like take the Vocals/Guitar/drums out so you can hear the Bass only. Or just take the Bass out etc... I have looked on the internet but have found nothing, does anybody know of anything like this? I would greatly appreciate any info. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

I have dreamed of software like this, lets hope they make it soon, or they leak the pro tools sessions.

There are some music software gubbins that do have a vocal removal tools. They aren't very effective as it relies on the vocals being of a certain frequencey(all instruments etc occupy their own frequncy range) and centred in the mix. The downside being that panned vocals may not be removed and any other instrument that occupies the same or similar frequncy range my also be removed or diminished in the mix and you'll be buggered if that's the part you're trying to isolate to transcribe. Most vocals are so embedded in the mix that some 'ghosts' will remain.

Hmmm

I would think you could do it with any studio software.

Try Fruity Loops.

If you're looking to learn tracks by amplifying the parts you want to hear, just play with the EQ. I thought everyone already did that.

If you're trying to remix things properly, you'll need the studio tracks.

What would be the best way to set the EQ to bring out the bass more? (I use Winamp) I imagine it won't be easy because I'm looking to bring the bass out in some Death Metal tracks, and the bass is obviously buried under so many layers of distorted downtuned guitars.
