just so you wont get pissed off, i started a new thread instead of posting in the superstring one.
if i read the hyperspace book? do i need any previous knowledge of physics other than the basics? if i do, then there'd be no point because i wouldnt understand it.

You don't need to be an expert.....but you need to enjoy the subject somewhat and be able to kind of learn as you read.
I understood about 95% of the book when i first read it. He does go into some detail at times about the mathematics involved, which i didn't understand....otherwise i got it all. If you know the basics of physics you should be ok. This won't make you an expert or anything, it'll just tell you about the possible GUTs (Grand Unified Theory) such as superstrings.
