Everyone seems to really begin to care about racism when it's their own group. Hence the offense at 'dot heads' and not at 'niggers.'

I, personally, don't see the point in judging somebody based on skin pigmentation or the most broadly understood genetics. And, as FF said, miscegenation is basically proof against the race theory. But, as much as I dislike people who seem to think that their skin color is a badge of honor and everybody else's an irremovable stain, I've got about as much hate for people who can't take a racial epithet when it's directed at them. Words have exactly as much power over us as we give them, and the intent behind them is always more important than the words used.

My city has an interesting situation, race-wise : Half of it, West Monroe, is predominantly white, and the city is in a little better shape ( ok, I lied, its much much better ) than Monroe, which is predominantly black, and these lopsided majorities are cementing themselves further and further, as more whites are moving to West Monroe to get away from the blacks ( I hear this about once a day from customers at work ), and blacks are moving to Monroe ... for whatever reason. There's much more subsidized housing over there, and true to Louisiana form, blacks populate these much more than any other race here. Why the blacks are poor deserves its own separate discussion as its a huge can of worms that I simply refuse to open.

So it sucks if I have to go to Monroe to do anything whatsoever, there are many places I'll go where I'm just simply the wrong colour if I want customer service of any kind. If you're white and happen to visit Monroe for some sad reason, do not eat fast food there or go to the Wal-Mart. DO NOT go to the Wal-Mart!

Its an interestingly absurd situation that I don't see solving itself any decade soon.

If you'd just said the names 'Monroe' and 'West Monroe' I could've told you that the former was predominately black, and had a lower quality of life than the latter, which was predominately white. Because I'm familiar with the last 50 years of American urban history.

I'm also familiar with the fact that, in America, we spell it 'color' because we never made an attempt to imitate French with our brand of English, unlike the denizens of a certain island I could name.

ok, it seems confusing only because there are two ways to like a girl, and only one way to like a guy, in this specific form on the topic. for guy, i either like him or dont like him as a person depending on if hes "cool". for a girl i can like/dislike her for the same reason as the guy, or for a sexual reason. maybe knowing for sure that i am straight would help distinguish between which of the "like"s i was talking about, as in being straight, the sexual "like" wouldnt even apply to the guy. so yeah, i mentioned two different "likes", the personality one for the guy, and the sexual one for the girl.

There are good and bad reasons to listen to metal. There are no good reasons to listen to emo.

I judge people based on individual -not collective- behavior, and much less by their appearance. So yeah racism sucks, and there's really not a great deal of racist metalheads out there IMO. People open minded enough to enjoy extreme music usually see past race and ethnicity.

I see more racial diversity at death metal gig than anywhere else, honestly.

Racism when used for comical purposes as long as its with no hateful intention is always fun, but gets old quick.

I've only come across two types of racist metalheads: the NS black metal folks and redneck groovecore/nu metal fans. The rest are generally open minded and not a bunch of cunts.

Edit: There actually is a good reason to listen to emo, it's to induce suicide if you are emo, doing the world a favor.

Another, lyrical comtent. There are many reasons to like metal. And don't forget that there are MANY different kinds of metal. Ranging from flashy, happy sounding power metal, to sludgy, evil sounding grindcore.
