Prom night
I was told that I needed a credit card to rent a motel/hotel room, is this true? I thought I could just pay with cash and it would be a done deal... My girlfriend is 18 and is gettin her ID card soon so I thought that, that is the only requirement to rent a room.. to be 18. Do any of you know anything about this? I hope I don't need a credit card, I don't have one.

More and more chains of Hotels do require a credit card.
Find an Apu motel....they're cheap and LOVE cash and ask no questions......however Dotheads often live at the motel and that India/Paki cooking often has the rooms smelling of chutney....

Well nothing is wrong with either of our houses, but my parents wouldn't let her sleep over and her mom won't let me sleep over. They know how me and my girl are with each other and they won't think twice about saying no. They have no idea I plan on getting a room. I'm just gonna say that we're gonna crash at a friends house because it will be "too late to drive." I was told today though that I don't need a credit card to rent hotel rooms, all I need to do is pay half up front, and pay the other half once I give back the keys. hmmm. I hope I can use cash and no credit cards or any of that bullshit. Thanks for all the feedback though guys. and gal (Bia). My prom is coming up soon so I need to make all the preparations and shit. It's so damn expensive though. especially since i'm a gentleman. haha I'm paying for everything.

Never went to any cuz I wasn't crazy about most of the people I went to school with and my b/f was already out of school. But anyways about the hotel....
I worked in one and the reason we required a credit card was incase the room got torn up somehow we'd have a way to bill for damages. It did happen although rarely. Some places won't rent to anyone under 21 for the same reasons. So would it still be possible to get a room at, let's say a Motel 6, by using cash? My friend told me that he and his girlfriend got a room (he is 18) he doesn't have a credit card and he paid (in cash) half up front and the other half when he checked out. I just don't have a credit card and she'll have her ID by then so I want to get a room without all the hassle of a credit card and shit. Neither of us have one.

I did, I'll see if I can find pictures of it. It was around 200 bucks then I bought a cheap vest, hat and cane to go with it. My folks house burned down in 03' so I'll have to check the internet.
